Here's my first photo of 2015, taken on the morning of Jan. 3rd and it's actually not a night time photo! Seems I've been heading out a lot late at night and neglecting sunrise and sunset so I thought it was time to get out there again.
There was some cloud cover over Edmonton but once I got out to this old homestead that Jeff Wallace Photography directed me to, the skies were fairly clear. Jeff went off to another old house and I stayed here.
Since I knew there wasn't going to be too much colour because of the lack of clouds, I chose this simple composition and thought it would look good in black and white. I have a few more photos to go through from different angles and some with the sun poking out that I'll post when I get around to it.
How does the black and white treatment look? Is there anything I could improve on? Give me your thoughts in the comments below.
Once again thanks for the likes and shares!

Trying to find an area of Abraham Lake with decent ice bubbles was tough, especially when you only have a few hours to explore the lake before sunset. I was lucky enough to find these bubbles just as the last bit of light was hitting Mount Michener. It hasn't been a great year for the ice, with the warm temperatures we got in January.
