Micron pigma, pencil crayons

It was a dark and stormy night...no, wait -- that story is for another day.

It was a Saturday. Outside it was cold and snowy and icy and whatnot. I decided, on a whim, to clean my eyeglasses. Then I began to feel somewhat silly for no good reason, which was fun. So I got my camera and decided to have a bit of play-time -- very much against my nature, but what do you want for only 5 quid? :-P

Happy Chinese New Year! :D

Chinese New Year Celebration in The Hague/ The Netherlands

According to the Chinese astrology , 2019 is a great year to make money, and a good year to invest! 2019 is going to be full of joy, a year of friendship and love for all the zodiac signs; an auspicious year because the Pig attracts success in all the spheres of life. Chinese New Years starts February 5th.

Well here we are 2020 is marching on even as we speak, the evenings are pulling out and the festivities are all but a memory.🌞

Funny I should mention the festivities as the village Christmas tree and decorations are taken down each year by a jovial bunch of volunteers. Some of the volunteers are the most highly qualified drinkers the village has ever assembled for this task.

Leading this operation is our own Hoof who is the one blessed with brains in these type of demanding situations. 🎄💡💡💡

Horace is more of a hands on type of person driving the telehandler and wielding a chainsaw in that order. Before you ask, yes he wears all the necessary protective clothing especially the cut resistant trousers which have the ability to instantly stall a chainsaw running at full power should it slip, after all Horace needs to look after his wedding tackle.🚜⚙️ (Check these trousers out on You Tube)

Hoof always contacts the local electricity board and gets permission to disconnect the lights from the tree, they normally ask “at watt time are you going to do it” Hoof responds we don’t want any resistance to this request or there may be a revolt by the lights committee.💡💡💡⚡️⚡️⚡️🔌🔌🔌

Once the lights and tree are down, we take a break for elevenses and the ladies of the WI very kindly provide trays of food led by their chairperson Bertha Thomas, and before you ask she does not have a brother called (no I am not going to say that name, stop it)☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰

Following these very welcome refreshments, there is a scurry of activity and the village is cleared of its Christmas decorations for another year.

Now as you all know 2019 was the year of the pig according to the Chinese zodiac, so it was felt that this achievement by Horace should be celebrated, yes a debrief of his years activities needed to be carried out in the pub.🐷 🎯🏨

As is the norm in our local pub following such an achievement much beer is thrown around the place. Also the world record for drinking the yard of ale is often broken during the celebrations. A few sea chanties are sung and everyone behaves in a very sensible manner.🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🎤🎤🎸🎷🎺😇

Having been such a busy day Horace decided to sit down with some of his chums at a table in the pub and hold court.

Then a customer looks over and walks towards Horace and asks “does your dog bite” Horace responded my dog has never bitten anyone, so the man put his hand down to stroke the dog and it bit right into his hand.

“Here said the man, you told me your dog doesn’t bite” Horace said “that’s not my dog”.🐶😁

Thank you all so much for viewing my images, the comments are so appreciated, enjoy your weekend🍺🍺🍺🍷🍷🍷😎🐎🐷😂😂😂

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR OF THE PIG

This little piggy is a Berkshire Gilt and you will be happy to hear that he lives on a farm which is a rare breed sanctuary and he will always have a home there and never have to go to market.

“Don't try to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work, and it annoys the pig.”

- Judy Sheindlin

I tried to teach him, but this little pig just laughed at me!!! ; 0))))

“I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.”

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR

the Year OF THE PIG

I feel like dancing

feel free to join in the jig

I have a feeling

this year will be big

More delightful; more fruitful

as sweet as a fig

Be faithful in friendship

be tolerant; be kind

Be stylish; hard-working

be generous; strong in mind

Perfection is the watchword

of those born under this sign

Generosity of spirit

a love of mankind

Celebrations; be a knowledge gourmet

read A Moveable Feast

Embrace the world with your love

give your all; not your least

Hand in hand across the ocean

North, South, West and East

We are in this life together

and we all want World Peace.

All animals at this sanctuary are rescued and will live out all their days filled with loving care. This little piggy was recently rescued at the time of taking this picture.

A shot that I have been reluctant to post in some ways, as it looks like H & H and I had just come home from being out on the razzle, fired up Lightroom then just dialled up every switch and knob we could lay our hooves, trotters, and hands on until it looked the colour of some of the stuff we had consumed in the office with some of the village rascals.

I have never seen colours or a mood develope like this ever at Crackpot Haven.

In all fairness I have had to tone this down to make it believable, steady I know what you are thinking, I could go on, however being the clean living fellow that I am, I will just leave you with this wonderful location that is very much worth a visit if you are ever in Cornwall.

Ah I should point out that 2019 is the year of the Pig🐷.

The Pig is the twelfth of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.

This means that Horace will be required to attend many functions🍺🍷💃 in his capacity as an hambassador, a role which he will be taking very seriously😜, he has already been measured up for his tuxedo by ‘Mole Valley Farmers’.

Therefore he may have to take some time away from Flickr this year, however with modern communication we think we will be able to work something out.

One of the possibilities is time travel which Hoof is going to investigate during a space walk from the European Space Station next time he goes up.

Once again thank you all so much for viewing my photos, and the lively comments you leave are so appreciated🐷🐎🎉🎸🍺🍺🍷🍷👍😂😂😂😂

It has been part of the Filipino culture but more especially part of the Chinese culture to celebrate Chinese New Year annually with our beliefs to have a lucky year. Let us still remember that we should not only look forward through these ornaments and predictions, 'cause its still the hard-work, persistence and perseverance that will lead us to our goals. Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Happy New Year, I wish you good health and lasting prosperity.
