Ended up the day laying on the floor with these wild gladiolus ...
It's about time I add a set called "Photomanipulations" here on flickr I think.
This one took maybe 2 hours or something. It's so fun when you start manipulating an image, you can let your creativity out all over the picture. As always when I'm photoshopping I over-processed this one for a start, I thought it looked like shit, literally. And that moment, when you think your picture is ugly and you're getting bored. That is when you should visualize the finished picture in your head, and keep on going. That's what I did and I am very proud of myself, haha. Usally I am very lazy when I'm photoshopping, but this time i kept on going and I am very satisfied with the results!
I will try to explain a little of what I did and how etc. Well, first I started with the picture you can se below in the comment section. I did not have any idea of what I was going to create. I started out with masking out the sky in the original picture, because I knew that I wanted to do something dreamy and surreal. I started to try some skies before I remembered this one that I took when it was kind of a sunset-storm in my city.
Then I started to think about what objects I wanted to add. I started out with the rock on the right. I erased a bit from the top that was lit from the wrong angle and darkened it down a little to simulate shaow. In this case I was lucky that the rock already had some highlights on one side so I turned that side to the sun. Then I started to make the shadows from and on the rock. My general technique of doing shadows is to copy the layer, fill it with black, flip it vertically and use the perspective and skew tool (I believe it's called skew, or something like that) to correct the perspective of the shadow. In this case I had to add a little blue to the shadows to match the colors.
Another thing I did with the rock was to find an image of a rock that was standing on a ground similar to the one in the picture. For instance, my original rock was cut out from a desert picture, though my manipulation is very grassy. So I found an image of a rock standing in grass and placed it on the bottom of my rock. I do that so it will really look like the rock is standing on the ground. It's very fine details but it helps a lot.
The road on the left is just kinda faded into the picture. Nothing fancy here, I extended the frame with the big grass a little so it will look like that it is growing down the hill. For the sun rays I just took the sky layer and motion blurred it in an angle, duplicated the layer a few times and set it to screen I think. Other blending modes like lighten should work too.
The sun flare is made in Adobe After Effects with a plugin from Andrew Kramer (videocopilot.net) and then imported to photoshop.
After I've done all that I just added a few lighting effects. I created some thin fog in the distance and some yellow foggy thing closer to make it look dreamy.
I have tried to record my photoshop work so I can speed it up and upload to YouTube for you to watch but unfortunately my computer is not that fast so it gets a little laggy. :( I will try again someday.
And thanks for your comments, I read them all and I appreciate it very, very much! Have a good day!

yeahh so i finally have power back! i havn't had it since saturday night. Huge strom came through my town, basically looked like a tornado. more then half the town was left without power, if you had power you were one of the lucky ones. My neighbor got a generator on monday night so we got to hook up to it and we got our refrigerator running and heat upstairs. We had no hot water for 3 days. I had to shower at friends houses in different towns. Not fun at all. And it was funny because we stil had school all week the school had power so everyone would bring everything they need to charge to school ahha.
These are 2 of the about 120 trees that fell in my town. I might have a few more pictures from this day i still have to look. But on tthe bright side i get my cast off in two weeks from today!!! (:

Sunny (well not so sunny) beaches, white sands and NO tourists.
I think Vestfirðir are one of the most beautiful places in Iceland and this place Arnarfjörður scores extra high on the scale. Now, they want to put up an oil-refinery there. I´m glad I got to see it in this form.
This is from our tour with our friends last summer...
