Grimy balladeers Yeah Yeah Yeahs—comprised of long time New York guitar journeyman Nick Zinner, jazz drummer Brian Chase and singer/songwriter Karen Orzolek (who’s dreamt up a psycho-extrovert, fashion damaged alter ego named Karen O)—score one of the biggest hits of the era with the quivering, heartbreak ballad “Maps.” (Previously Unpublished Photo by Emily Wilson.)
