Dublin Corners Farm Brewery after one of my Letchworth jaunts.

The boyfriend of one of the trio was giving a benefit performance. They all seemed rather fond of the young man.

Unfortunately, I neglected to wind the film after the photograph of him and his guitar, resulting in a rather strange double exposure. Oh, well.

Gotta love a shiny bar. Heroes Brewing, of course, for the @deviantArt WeeklyFotoChallenge of 'bar'.

Fifty years ago today, I soloed an Army TH-55 helicopter at Fort Wolters, Texas. In honor of the occasion I decided to take my flight school mug along to the various watering holes I frequent for a photo series.

The ones we flew were bright orange. They were affectionately(?) referred to as LOBs, Little Orange Bastard. Half a dozen of them bobbing up and down as they waited in line for takeoff clearance was quite the sight to see.

TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) medium-format film camera for 120 film. It was produced from 1958 to 1974.

This one comes with a better 4-element Tessar-style Yashinon 80mm f/3.5 taking lens instead of the Yashikor ones found on earlier models.

My wife and I drove down to Letchworth State Park a week and a half ago. She sat in the car and read while I did some walking by the lower falls.

There is a large, flat, open area, 127 steps down from the rim, presumably river bed at some point. This is from the north end, looking downriver. (The Genesee flows north, emptying into Lake Ontario a few miles west of my home.)

The promontory from the previous photograph is on the right.

Note the couple in the top left corner, and the stonework further left. The photograph I will post tomorrow is from there.

I had the same Yashica-D in 1970-78

...gone, real soon.

I hate to do it, but the Yashica is moving on. The camera that got me shooting film again. I picked it up fairly cheaply to mess around with film for fun on the side of shooting digital. Little did I know that I would end up shooting film as much as digital, if not more.

Having added a Bronica SQ-B and a Rolleiflex to my arsenal, the Yashica was not getting much action. The final nail in the coffin was when I made the decision last week to buy my dream film camera, a Hasselblad 500 C/M. I picked out and ordered an A12 back and am now scouting the body and lens. 80mm of Carl Zeiss Planar goodness here we come! :)

The Yashica is available on a well known auction site. Flickr Mail me if you would like the link or check my blog. Sold!

The river that made Rochester.

From a Studio 678 field trip in October. On Wednesday we walked south along the Genesee River from the upper falls. The kids had grand time. Photographs were taken.

I took this photo 1969

In the fading light.

It was noticeably darker as I turned around and started back up the north branch of the trail. The south branch was long and gentle. The north branch soon steepened as it climbed back to the road by a more direct route. The two branched converged just behind me and just before the short spur to the end-of-trail fence.

Last shot of the day. It was well after sunset by time I got back to the car and headed north for my beer at Dublin Corners.
