This is not just a ball of yarn. It is a gift for a friend of mine. When she is finished knitting a wonderfully warm pair of socks she will find a gift for her that has been wrapped inside. Shhhh . . . don't tell : )
Some of the over 40 pairs of socks that I've knitted in the last two years.
I'm well aware that this definitely is an unreasonable amount of socks to have. They'll last me for the next decade or so, and yet I'm making more. Then again, there are worse things to do than compulsive sock knitting, so why not? At least I'll always have warm feet.

I finished the little shawlette that I started on the plane to Austin last night. I had this much yarn left over. Oh man, does that feel good.
Goodness, this is one of my fave pages from a few months ago when I guess designed for Bella Blvd - and I just realized I forgot to upload it around!!
It's a lil page about my new crafty obsession - all things yarn. :) I had the yarn ball idea in my head for ages, it was super-fun to finally do!
I used lots of Bella Blvd on this one, with some Cosmo Cricket stickers in, cuz they were just perfect. :)

A ball of multicolored yarn ends that I will use in a granny blanket I have been making using all the short ends of yarn skeins that are not long enough for another project. I laid the ball on a metal pedestal of a glass candleholder that got broken.

Leermiddel, spelletje, speeltje of test?
Ik vond dit doosje in de kringloopwinkel, en heb geen idee wat het is, in dit soort doosjes werden vroeger de Montesorri leermiddelen opgeborgen.
In een van de korte kanten zit óók een gaatje en daar staat een '1' boven gestempeld.
Het doosje is aan de onderkant gestempeld 'SCHILTE'. Schilte bestaat nog en was in het verleden (sinds 1858) een belangrijke leverancier van schoolmaterialen, zoals linialen en de houten speel-/leermiddelen ontwikkeld door Maria Montessori.
Wie herkent dit doosje met inhoud?
Inmiddels ontdekt;
Fröbel legde de nadruk op ontwikkelingsmateriaal die hij speelgaven noemde. De eerste speelgave bestond uit een doosje met zes wollen ballen van verschillende kleuren die aan een koordje opgehangen moesten worden voor de voorgeschreven oefeningen.

I found this little wooden box in the thriftshop, and have no idea what it is, in former days the Montesorri educational tools came in this type boxes. In of the short side is also a little hole with a '1 ' stamped above it. The box has been stamped on the bottom
' SCHILTE'. Schilte is (since 1858) an important supplier of school materials, such as rulers and wooden toys and learining supplies the kind developed by Maria Montessori.
Who does recognise this box with contents? And knows how is was used?
