Y2K Spitfire Ariel Demonstration & Fly-by
Making a triumphant return to the Comox Valley, the F/L Arnold Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX will be seen in a dramatic fly-by the Comox Harbour jetty shortly after 5 PM. The Spitfire restoration, which began at CFB Comox, features a 2,000 horsepower, V12 Rolls Royce Merlin engine and is painted in tribute to Arnold Roseland, a Canadian who flew 442 Squadron's Y2-K aircraft more than 65 times before being shot down and killed in 1944 over France.
