Acutally it's a new hobby I'm trying out--arc welding. Haven't welded since high school and it was with gas. We will see how long this hobby lasts.
Don't try this at home! Everywhere I went yesterday photographers were out in force. I couldn't resist a shot of these three after they moved into a spot I had been shooting. They were a bit more aggressive than me about getting that perfect angle.

A playful touch on the xtreme sports genre. This is the first in this series. An out of control bike pulling the rider behind, but almost looking like she is in control, guiding the bike as a stunt.
All hail Tesco for bringing back Matchbox to the U.K. and just in time for Case G or P as we now officially have to call it. At just 1.25 each which is barely more than a HTI generic they offer decent value for money and also make it a little bit harder to be too unkind to some of their shortfalls caused by relentless cost cutting.
I'm sure somebody like Majorette or Welly would have produced a more satisfying Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme but Matchbox went and done it with this being its second and latest recolour. Its a little bit on the cheapo side casting wise but that metallic paintwork is truly dazzling and there is certainly no complaints from me about its front and rear tampo detailing.

Been a lot to the Xtreme Bean and never noticed this, and tonight I drop a coin and when I get down to get it I run into this nice surprise so I had to add mine to the combo.
It's a little more exciting then its sister sport- Xtreme Beard Growing.

2019 will go down as the Annus Horribilis for UK Matchbox collectors with Mattel pulling the brand from its spiritual home and indeed the home of Matchbox collecting in general. There are still persistent rumours Tesco are still negotiating to stock Matchbox but my head tells me its not going to happen!
2018 was still classed as a bad year for finding new batches of MBX at ASDA with many collectors missing many many new assortments though through determination and a bit of good luck I was able to find every mainline release except the early Case B assortment. Some turned up rather cheaply on AliExpress but gaps still remained in my collection. Until yesterday.......
I had been tipped off that the small chain of Toytown stores had gotten in this elusive Case B on US long cards and with two stores within a reasonable driving distance I shot off in a cloud of Burnt Orange smoke ;-)
Apart from the Police Corvette I was able to find everything else I was missing including this 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme. No surprises for guessing what appealed to me the most about this brand new casting.....
Shining bright in all its metallic Burnt Orange glory is this most handsome and modern looking of U.S. derived pick-ups. Well cast with a smart appearance its non liveried sides have allowed for some much needed front and rear tampo detailing, more so at the rear. Its cast in roof box looks a little less clunky than other recent Matchbox models featuring one and overall the whole thing looks well integrated abeit in a cost conscious kind of way. Lets hope this small chain get some more Matchbox in!
