It's not really a security measure. It just locks the keyboard, mouse, etc. so nobody accidentally logs on locally and breaks it. It also locks the XRAID so that none of the drives accidentally fall out (or get pulled out).

My babies were taken away from me a little over 2 weeks ago… With our lab closing down and all, stuff had to go. The Mac servers which I’ve so painstakingly set up were sent off to another university in Kyushu. I would have loved to bring them home. ^^.
