A stunningly NEW BMW X5 xDrive 30d AC unmarked 4x4, is pictured parked up at the Northumbria Police workshops just after delivery there.
This was a demo from BMW which the force's Firearms Support Unit evaluated. It has since moved onto other forces.

Zotye is a Chinese independent carmaker that started producing cars in 2006. Zotye showed impressive growth in the past years, selling 328,875 cars on the local market in 2016, quadruple the amount of 2012. The cars itself are slightly less impressive so far. It started with the 2008 (Nomad), an unlicensed copy of the first generation Daihatsu Terios. Later Zotye bought production rights and toolings to produce the Fiat Palio/Siena/Perla, Multipla and Lancia Lybra. The former one entered production as Zotye Z200, the Multipla as Mutiplan (M300) and the Lybra was never finalized. Zotye has a questionable reputation for copying products of foreign carmakers, making copies of the Audi A6, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Porsche Macan and Toyota Allion, while the Domy X7, which was launched in 2017, is the production version of the Volkswagen Crossblue Coupé Concept! The Domy X5, launched in 2015, is a clone of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Zotye is currently copying the Range Rover.

ARRIVA buses Wales DAF DB250 / East Lancs Lowlander 4187 Y702 XJF is seen parked outside the ARRIVA office at Bangor clock bus station while on route X5 to Llandudno on the 6th of November 2015. This bus was new to ARRIVA Fox numbered 4702 in 2001 and then to ARRIVA Midlands.
Seen in Warrington before starting it's X5 service to Liverpool is Crosville CTL150 B150ALG a Leyland Tiger / Duple Laser C53F.

Chery Automobile was the largest Chinese carmaker for quite some time, thanks to successes of the QQ, Tiggo, A5 and the old Windcloud/Flagcloud (Fulwin/Cowin) models. Chery is a state-owned company founded in 1997. It began automobile production in 1999 after acquiring toolings and a license to produce the first generation Seat Toledo. Interesting is that Chery was only granted a production license for passenger cars in 2003, which means Chery cars couldn't be legally sold until 2001. Until then Chery was officially only producing automotive components, albeit in a fully assembled form. In 2001 Chery solved the problem by piggybacking on a SAIC Motor license, China's largest state-owned car manufacturer. Chery surely knowns the way around the law... After rising tensions between Chery Automobile and General Motors (GM) and Volkswagen, two of SAIC's joint venture partners, the 20% ownership SAIC once held in Chery was sold. GM was not amused and filed lawsuits after Chery copied their Spark (Matiz) and Epica (Evanda/Magnus) models. Volkswagen also planned a lawsuit against Chery, because they apparently secretly purchased the Seat Toledo blueprints, which is quite interesting considering Seat is a subsidiary of Volkswagen...
The Tiggo, Chery's first SUV, was launched in 2005. It is a copy of the second generation Toyota RAV4. It has received three facelifts so far and is still going strong. It was renamed Tiggo 3 as Chery was expanding the line-up, starting with the Tiggo 5 in 2013 and followed by the all new Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 3x (a raised and heavily revamped Fulwin 2) in 2016 and Tiggo 5x in 2017. The Tiggo Coupe Concept was first shown in Shanghai in April.
Chery had a terribly messy line-up after it launched three new sub brands in 2009, two of which completely failed: Rely, Riich (both now defunct) and Karry. The Riich name confusingly was initially used for a small bread van which was later part of the Karry range, but as a subbrand Riich was positioned as Chery's most upmarket brand. It had a range consisting of the small M1 hatchback, M5 liftback, X1 cross stationcar, G3 (an upmarket version of the Chery A5/Cowin 3, now known as Chery E5), the G5 (first shown as Chery A6 prototype) and G6. Some cars never made it into production, including the M3, G2 and gorgeous Z5 styled by Bertone. Many Chery dealerships that were forced to (exclusively) sell the Riich and Rely brand went bankrupt.
In 2008 the Chery Higgo 3 SUV and Higgo 2 pick-up were launched. Only the SUV went into production as Rely X5. It was a commercial failure, selling less than 6,000 units in five years. Even an adventure in Dakar Rally 2010 didn't help.
