12kV X-ray of the flowers of a foxglove plant (Digitalis purpurea). Created this digitally using an intensifying screen, an SLR, and a mammography tube.
Arbustos o árboles de 1,5-6 (11) m de alto. Ramas jóvenes pardo grisáceas; ramillas del año pardo purpúreas, glabras. Peciolo de 5-10 mm, glabro o pubescente en la parte inferior; lámina de la hoja anchamente elíptica, elíptica u oblongo-elíptica, de 5-10 (12) x 2,5-5,6 (7) cm, coriácea, verde pálido en el envés, con puntos glandulares marrones, haz verde oscuro, ambas superficies glabras, nervio central verde amarillento, grueso y elevado en ambas caras, 6-9 pares de nervios secundarios, delgados y visibles en ambas caras, base de cuneada a anchamente cuneada, margen serrulado, ápice cortamente acuminado y con diente obstuso. Flores axilares o subterminales, solitarias o en parejas, de 6-10 cm de diámetro, subsésiles. Unas 9 bracteolas y sépalos, verdes en flor; las 4 bracteolas externas y los sépalos lunados a semiorbiculares, de 2-5 mm, glabros o subglabros, o blanco grisñaceo velutino; bracteolas internas y sépalos verdes, persisatentes en el fruto jóven, orbiculares a anchamente ovados, de 1-2 cm, ligeramente coriáceos, ambas superficies blanco grisáceas velutinas o subglabras, margen membranoso. Pétalos 6-7, pero a menudo más en los cultivares, rosa o blanco, obovados a anchamente obovados, de 3-4,5 x 1,5-2,5 cm, ápice emarginado; 5 pétalos internos basalmente connados por 0.5-1,5 cm. Ginoecio de unos 3 cm, glabro. Ovario ovoide, triloculado; estilo de unos 2,8 cm, apicalmente trilobado. Cápsula globosa, de 2,5-3,5 cm de diámetro, triloculada, con 1-2 semillas por lóculo; pericarpio de 5-8 mm de grueso cuando seco, leñoso. Semillas marrones, de semiglobosas a globosas, de 1-2 cm de diámetro, glabras. Bosques, de 300 a 1000 m. En Iturraran se cultivan mas de 50 variedades. China (Shandong, Taiwan, E Zhejiang), S Japan, S Corea. En Iturraran se encuentra en la zona 2.

Flowers axillary or subterminal, solitary or paired, 6-10 cm in diam., subsessile. Bracteoles and sepals ca. 9, green at anthesis; outer 4 bracteoles and sepals lunate to semiorbicular, 2-5 mm, glabrous, subglabrous, or grayish white velutinous; inner bracteoles and sepals green, persistent to young fruit, orbicular to broadly ovate, 1-2 cm, thinly leathery, both surfaces grayish white velutinous or subglabrous, margin membranous. Petals 6 or 7 but often more for cultivars, rose or white, obovate to broadly obovate, 3-4.5 × 1.5-2.5 cm, apex emarginate; inner 5 petals basally connate for 0.5-1.5 cm. Stamens 2.5-3.5 cm, glabrous; outer filament whorl basally connate for 1.5-2.5 cm. Gynoecium ca. 3 cm, glabrous. Ovary ovoid, 3-loculed; style ca. 2.8 cm, apically 3-lobed. Capsule globose, 2.5-4.5 cm in diam., 3-loculed with 1 or 2 seeds per locule; pericarp 5-8 mm thick when dry, woody. Seeds brown, semiglobose to globose, 1-2 cm in diam., glabrous. Forests; 300-1100 m. More than 50 varieties are grown in Iturraran. China (Shandong, Taiwan, E Zhejiang), S Japan, S Korea. In Iturraran is in zone 2.

Look, no fracture (I think)! :o)
Fell down some stairs last night and landed on my arm. I don't appear to have broken my arm (obviously it's my right). What I think happened is that I dislocated it (it was at a wrong angle when I got up), but the alcohol I'd had (not all that much, honestly!) was enough to dull the pain when I relocated it.
I was quite proud though. I then went to the loo, managed to do up my button fly jeans one-handed, and walked back upstairs, went up to my friend and said "sorry to be awkward, but I think you need to take me to A&E" :o)
Bloody hurts, but I just have to suck that up, I guess. Got some pain meds and need to go to my local A&E after 48 hours, so they can re-evaluate once it's less swollen.
This is what happens when a ten-year-old gets a make-up kit for Christmas.
