I'm graduating next semester, so I really have to figure out what I'm doing with my life, and this is kind of what it feels like. But much scarier.

A collaboration between Leslie Wenner and myself.

We shot this small series a long time ago, and I'm so excited to finally release it! One more set to go to complete the Elements series.

Brittany and I took this in an old mill in San Marcos, Texas. We were packing up all the equipment to leave, when I saw this beautiful patch of light coming in through this window. There were beautiful specs of dust dancing in the evening light, and as soon as I saw the shot through the viewfinder I was so stoked.

It was a beautiful day of improvising, stress, and sweatiness and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

We shot this in a burned down forest, and we had so much fun walking around and exploring. We got to enjoy all types of lighting, and as soon as we got to this overlook we were so excited to watch the sun set over miles forest - it was magical.

We also got yelled at by a park ranger, but it was all worth it in the end ;)

The model is my darling fiancé in a waterfall on campus, poor thing it was so cold out (especially to Texans). We had a delightful adventure, and I got to giggle at him from my warm dry spot on the banks.

I decided to start the 52 week photo challenge! I've been thinking about it for a while, and I think it would be a great way to practice :]

I did a write up about it on my blog, but I want to start sharing more of the creative process and everything that goes into the creation of the pieces my team and I make. Part of the most crucial step in creating photographs is the editing, so I did an editing video of this photo which can be viewed on my YouTube Channel. There are a few rough edges, but I want to do a lot more of these.

My best friend/roommate/partner in crime Chelsea and I took a trip over to Louisiana this past weekend to visit some very special people. I don't think one has to be blood to be considered family - when you have love, understanding and compassion for each other you will find a family. Especially when you've been through as much together as all of us have.

We had so much fun laying in the grass, taking pictures, and eating oranges right from the tree and it was a much needed mini vacation on the water. Six people staying in a cozy boathouse might not sound fun to some people, but it was a blast for us

Thank you to the Yonich's for always welcoming us with such open arms and loving hearts, we all love ya'll.

Brittany, Joey and I had planned to shoot at an abandoned schoolhouse from 1913 that was a few hours away, and en route to our location I get an email saying we can come shoot at an old mill turned photography studio that is rented by a mutual friend. We immediately turned around and headed out!

It was magnificent to say the least - huge structure that was filled with the surplus from an antique shop. It was a wonderland, that I'm so happy I got to shoot at! Every prop you could imagine was there, beautiful wooden floors and walls, and the natural light that filled the space was stunning. Be prepared to be blasted with photos from it once I pick up my negatives/scans later this evening ;]

I was listening to this while editing <3

This is also for my thesis class, and was inspired by how busy I am trying to balance having a photography business, being a senior in college, and having a life. My model is Leslie Wenner, who is an independent fashion designer here in Austin, and we are working on a collaborative piece for a magazine submission next month. Sometimes being overwhelmed isn't a bad thing, and I'd take too much work over too little any day.

I hope you all enjoy your weekend! xoxo

I first fell in love with analog photography as a child, so maybe I'm a little bias - but there's just something magical about film that digital will never be able to compete with. The way film handles light and color just has such a special quality about it...

I've tried every form of analog photography from pinhole to using a massive 8x10 camera, and each format has its own "brand" of magic, and personally I must say that medium format is my favorite <3 I've become obsessed.

Brittany and I went out with the intent to get moody overcast photos, but as Texas is famous for - the weather changed in an instant. So we pulled over on the side of the road to shoot these with the little time we had Right as we were getting ready to get the shot a little ladybug landed on her finger

What's ya'lls favorite kind of format? Digital, analog? 35mm, large format, ect. ?

A sneak peak of a collaboration between my friend and talented artist Tiffany Gordon (www.tiffanygordon.com) and myself. All of her recent work, including this piece, is inspired by the story of Marie Antoinette.

Facebook / Tumblr / Website / Instagram

She designed the entire outfit, the top is cast bronze, and the bottom is made from paper and fabric. She handmade the paper herself using a sprayer normally used for texturing walls, and the skirt is about 8 ft in diameter. Tiffany modeled her pieces herself, and a big thank you to the Austin Plantation House for letting us take over for an evening :]

All the hair, make up, styling, and photography was done by myself, and a thank you to Benny Ventura (www.facebook.com/benvenphoto) for always being down for last minute adventures!

"still together."

Been pretty swamped with midterms, and can't wait to get back to big photoshoots after they're done :]

For my senior thesis classes I'm focusing on my more personal work, and incorporating the models into the concept as a part of the pieces. So to start with, this is my domestic life partner/best friend/roommate on the death of our best friend, and her soulmate. I found this little guy outside of my class, and strange things always happen since Louis passed once it starts to get cold (which it's finally doing down here in TX). I wanted to portray the relationship Chelsea and Louis still have, I swear he comes to our apartment some days. Even through death, great bonds cannot be broken.

We're coming up on the 3 year anniversary soon, gone but not forgotten <3

Brittany and I took this on top of a mountain in California <3 We hiked all the way up to the top, and then both of our phones died so we walked aimlessly for forever haha We were quite lost and got a bit of cardio in, but it's something I will never forget - and much more of an adventure than simply strolling back to the car!

We were only able to shoot this set for about 20 minutes before it started raining, and Brittany had to change out of the dress in the forest while we sought shelter underneath a 3 story tall cross. It was probably one of the strangest scenes of my life haha On the hike down before we got lost, we found the gnarliest walking stick, and met a bunch of cool looking dogs. Afterwards we went into the city and ate the most delicious crepes I've ever had <3

My heart is still happy from this trip :)

Leslie lives in this beautiful commune just north of downtown. It's a cute boho set up in this 100 year old house full of artists, so we're both used to her roommates bringing in odd things in the name of art. One of her roommates is in a play and took on the responsibility of baby sitting a little lamb for the show. So clearly we just had to use the lamb for a shoot!

The roommate happily obliged that we borrow his lamb, so we lamb proofed my car (kind of haha), rented a costume, and set out for one of my favorite parks! The lamb did wonderfully, and only tried to run away from us once! I think we thoroughly confused a bunch of dogs, runners, and the woman at Sonic afterwards though haha

This was shot using only natural light and a reflector.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a film scanner! In the long run it was significantly cheaper than getting it developed and scanned somewhere else. I've never shot film with strobes before, and my oh myy... if I wasn't addicted to shooting film before, I definitely am now! haha RIP savings account, it was great knowin' ya ;)

This was taken on a Hasselblad 500CM with an 80mm Carl Zeiss lens, Ilford HP5+ film, and self developed and scanned. I've been getting my film developed and scanned at the camera store here in Austin, and although it was great to just drop it off and pick it up - I felt like I was missing out on part of the process.

Part of the appeal for shooting in film is actually having something tactile, and it's nostalgic since I started shooting in film years ago. So to develop it myself and smell the chemicals, dry it, cut it, and scan it - it just feels complete. Like writing the conclusion to a novel you've worked really hard on. I spent most of my time in highschool in the darkroom, and to get back to that just feels wonderful <3

I'm thinking about trying to develop my own color film as well, have any of ya'll had any experience with this?

I finally developed and scanned these back from my shoot in February! Medium format is just my absolute favorite, and I can't wait until I shoot this wedding in a few months so I can buy another Hasselblad. The last one didn't survive the sand :[ </3
