White Throated Sparrow in the redbud.

We need some color on this cold, grey, raining spring morning. Im glad the rain is here, we needed a little bit but the grey is overrated. Soon here the WTS will all have gone North to their breeding grounds to make more sparrows. This photo is actually one from last year that I missed/forgot about but since I've been going back through all mine, I figured now was a good time to post it.

You stand in ankle-deep muck to get the shot just right - of course you'll get the shot.

Throw back to a couple springs ago. I was going thru old files and cleaning up RAW files I was never going to use. I stumbled upon some nice images of a white throated sparrow perched in my Carolina Sweetspire. It was nice to find something new and different.

I got something new. After looking for the better part of a year, I found a RF200-800 in stock and had to buy it. It showed up today, right as the snow was falling and the feeding area was packed with birds. Ive been shooting everything there to test this new lens out. Im very pleased so far, this Whit throated Sparrow is at 800mm, NO CROPPING and is probably about 30' from where I was shooting. So much more reach. So much more of my yard just became within shooting distance.

Tayside Ailsa WTS 259T was one of many hired to Strathclyde's Buses to cover the vehicles lost in the Larkfield Depot fire in May 1992. It became C915 in the SB fleet and like most of the hired vehicles a nice orange front to avoid any confusion to its loyal Glasgow passengers. C915 is seen on the 12A picking up outside the St Enoch Centre built on the site of the former St Enoch's Railway Station.

The Merchants' Steeple in the background has stood since 1665 once part of the Merchants Hall, then Glasgow's Fish Market and now 'The Briggait' housing Artists Studios.
