HOMICIDE CANDLE FOR BRANDON JOHNSON. (old case)
This is University Court in Niagara Falls New York. This is an old case I wanted to write a quick story on, at the time no one ever placed a homicide memorial at the location it happened. So I never did a story on it, for 6 years, but today I decided to put a candle in the general area it happened at. Im not sure which apartment it happene in. On December 8th, 2011, an 18 year old named Gordon Jackson shot and killed a 20 year old Niagara University student named Brandon Johnson in an armed robbery gone terribly wrong. The 20 year old Niagara University student had just moved to Niagara Falls New York from Rochester New York. He was a Niagara University student and was not involved in any street activity. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Johnson was at a party that 18 year old Jackson, and an accomplice, 24 year old Cordero Gibson, also of Niagara Falls, NY, decided to run up in the apartment and rob the people inside. The shooter, Gordon Jackson who was actually 17 when he murdered the University student, was armed with a shotgun. And for reasons unknown, pointed the shotgun at Brandon and shot him in the head. Killing him instantly. Jackson was later arrested and sentenced to 21 years to life for second degree murder. Many people in Niagara Falls downplay our violence levels by saying "only people involved in the streets get murdered here" and that "no one innocent ever gets killed here". That is a LIE. And this is one of the cases I reference when I always find myself arguing with people who try to make NF sound "not that bad". Innocent people have been murdered here, and people who visit or who have moved from cities that are deemed worse than ours, like Rochester. Additional note, police say the shooter had been involved in gangs for 2 years during and prior to the murder. Niagara Falls, New York. Lafayette Avenue and University Court.

Homicide candle for 44 year old Daniel Sparks, who was found stabbed to death just a few yards to the right of this photo in some overgrown brush between Buffalo avenue and Mackenna avenue. The coroner found that he had been stabbed 27 times in his torso and upper legs, then he was dumped in an abandoned lot behind the Cataract Steel facility. Sparks went missing on November 1st 2016 and his body was found December 6th 2016. Police have since charged 27 year old James W. Howard as a suspect in this case with second degree murder. The motive for this murder is unknown. Niagara Falls, New York.

Falls police ID murder victim, make two arrests

Falls police have made a pair of arrests in connection with the dead body found Tuesday in the city’s North End.
The body has been identified as Daniel Sparks, 44, of Niagara Falls. He was reported missing on Nov. 1. Relatives told police last month that he had not been seen since early October.
Sparks’ body was found Tuesday in the 1900 block of Mackenna Avenue, just behind Cataract Steel. Police say Sparks suffered 27 stab wounds to his torso and upper leg area. Police said they believe Sparks was killed very close to the area in which his remains were found and that the “vicious attack” was preplanned.
James W. Howard, 27, of Lockport, has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail.
Carl M. Hosmer, 29, of Niagara Falls, has also been charged with first-degree hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held.
Additional charges are pending and the investigation is still ongoing. Erie County’s Medical Examiner is still working to confirm the body is in fact Mr. Sparks through forensic testing. www.niagara-gazette.com/news/crime/falls-police-id-murder...

This is why I say national news ignores violence in Niagara Falls.
Homicide Memorial for 59 year old Jose Hewitt. Murdered April 12th 2017. Jose was living in an apartment building on Pine Avenue when two people, armed with a gun, and with the intention to rob someone in the building, found Mr Hewitt by accident and pistol whipped him and robbed him instead. Mr Hewitt suffered a heart attack because he was beaten, and died on scene. Police arrested 18 year old Stephanie Raymond and 22 year old Shequan Herbert and charged them with second degree murder and first degree robbery. 18 year old Devante Beasley was also arrested and is also charged with second degree murder and first degree robbery. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty. So anyways, yea if this happened in Chicago, an innocent man who was murdered for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.. ABC news, CNN, BET news and every single Facebook page on earth wouldn't shut up about this for weeks, but because it happened in the Falls they ignore it to perpetuate that Niagara Falls has no real violence and no real hoods. ...but I digress...

Homicide Memorial for Jadero Kelley (unknown age) who was gunned down near this location on French Street between Fillmore Avenue and Kehr Street on August 5th 2016. The news media was very hush hush on this murder for some reason. I can't find any news articles about this homicide, the only source I have is the Buffalo Police Department's homicide website. All I know is that he was shot and his homicide case is currently unsolved. Jadero was the 27th person murdered in 2016 in Buffalo New York

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police in Niagara Falls are investigating a fatal shooting.
Police say 27-year-old Marcel Walker was shot multiple times around 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of 2811 Highland Avenue.
After the shooting, someone started driving Walker to the hospital.
While transporting Walker, the driver of the vehicle saw a Rural Metro Ambulance and flagged it down.
Walker was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Media Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not made any arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call contact Niagara Falls Police at (716) 286-4711 or the Criminal Investigation Division at (716) 286-4553."

Homicide Memorial for Ahmed J. Coon, murdered two days after Christmas on December 27th, 2016. He was 40 years old. He was shot here on the first block of Mohr Avenue, between Ashley Street and Grimes Street a few doors down from his house. Police believe he was the victim of gang violence. His murder is still unsolved. He was the 49th and final homicide of 2012. There is another memorial about 7 houses away towards Grimes Street, I am unsure if it is a secondary memorial to him or not. She was shot and killed during a street party and police believe she was the victim of increasing gang violence in the city of Buffalo. Homicide Candle for 55 year old Elroy Damidaux murdered here in the first block of Curry Walk around 8:30 pm on January 29th 2016 in the Towne Gardens apartment complex in Buffalo NY. Police arrested 39 year old Damario Washington for the murder. The motive is unknown. He was the 3rd person murdered in Buffalo in 2016. This case is listed as cleared or solved.

COLD CASE FILES, HOMICIDE IN NIAGARA FALLS
On July 14th 2003 a young unidentified woman was found burned to death at the bottom of a staircase in this nightclub, known at the time as Pharoahs. Police and Firefighters made the grim discovery some time in the morning. Follow up news reports on the incident state that the autopsy revealed she was most likely alive when she was set on fire, and that she had been attacked elsewhere and moved to this location. Police believe she had been dragged into the stairwell. Her body was so badly burned that forensic identification was impossible and her torso was almost gone. Police checked missing persons reports from both the western new york area and southern ontario area but found nothing. The only thing she was found with was a business card from Buffalo that turned up no leads and a hyperdermic needle and heroin addiction meds that also turned up no leads. Her identity still remains a mystery to this day and her killer has never been identified or found. This location has remained untouched to this day. It has been 13 years since her murder. Out of all the homicide locations I have stood outside this was the most eerie one. August 11th 2016 Niagara Falls NY. Homicide Candle Memorial for 17 year old Daniel Glover, who was gunned down near this location in the 100 block of Wecker Avenue in Buffalo New York on June 19th 2016. Daniel was the 19th homicide victim of 2016 in Buffalo NY. His murder case is currently unsolved.

Homicide Memorial for 26 year old Eric Graham who was gunned down near this location at Hempstead Avenue and Tower Street on August 13th 2016. The memorial itself is up the block more near this building with the address 188-230 Hempstead. I drove around the corner and saw a sign that said these are the "Kenfield Homes" of Buffalo New York. Located near Edison Avenue and Langfield Drive. Eric Graham was the 28th person murdered in 2016 in Buffalo New York. His murder case is currently unsolved.
