Looking south to the Sweetgrass Hills in Montana

An updated version of a shot taken last year. I've been experimenting lately with taming the contrast levels of Fuji's RAF files to see what a "softer" touch might produce.

This wall will, eventually, be covered in floor to ceiling bookshelves, and so, faced with a bare wall that is soon to be covered over, I did what any self-respecting artist would do, and grabbed a bottle of red paint and left my mark for future generations to discover. I do not actually know who said this – there are many different attributions.

Marrakesh has the largest traditional Berber market in Morocco and the image of the city is closely associated with its souks.

La médina de Marrakech constitue le centre névralgique et le cœur historique de la ville de Marrakech. S'étendant sur une superficie globale de 600 hectares, elle est une des plus vastes médinas du Maroc et la plus peuplée d'Afrique du Nord.

Along with Oprah, his tag (see enlargement at lower left) is on page 1 of 211,000 copies of The Sydney Morning Herald today.

Will Oprah take him back to America? Will pride go to his head?

DANVILLE VA: DAN RIVER MILLS: Once upon a time, a long time ago, factory workers lived very close to the factory. So close, in fact, they could be called to work by the ringing of the factory bell or whistle.

Our local camera club has a challenge this month entitled "Shadows". I thought I'd give it a try with this "unique" shot. It's been done forever but I wanted to give it a try myself. I hope you enjoy!

➤ The basis of your image must be a painting by Caravaggio** (Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio).

➤ Your manipulated image must contain a modern object that did not exist in Caravaggio’s time.

➤ There must be wine in your image whether in a transparent glass or bottle or spilled.

➤ Part or all of the background should show the night sky.

➤ No abstraction or abstract elements. (In other words, your final image – no matter how surreal in content – should have a realistic presentation.)

Beatles- Macro Mondays

(a real Withe Album)

In September 1759 the Beaver King arrived in Pittsburg, USA with most of the Delaware tribe...

This is a headline in the Lloyds of London internal news sheet. A photo of an original news sheet, the oldest thing I could lay hands on for this Macro Monday

I'm inspired by beginnings.

A first page.

A new week. Month. Year.

A new goal.

A fresh possibility slowly coming into focus.

A start.

A do-over for no reason better than doing it over.

Grateful for beginnings. As many of them as it takes.

this couldn't be more cliche, I know

but it's so damn important.
