Street Portrait in Berlin

I am bundled up in Le La, called Angel Xmas, an exclusive at Swank that comes with a woven sweater, mini shorts, cute earmuffs embroidered with playful reindeer, boots, socks, and a fur coat, making it a perfect balance of cute and cozy -- it’s a look that says holiday spirit. I snuggle into my “love coat” that is part of this look that is so fuzzy, so warm, like a hug made of winter clouds. My thick knit socks and plush fur boots keep me toasty. I feel like I’ve stepped straight into a Nordic holiday dream—the kind of look that turns a winter sleigh ride into a potential love story. It’s festive, flirty, and fabulously seasonal. Angel Christmas made by Le La is exclusive at Swank and is made for LARAX, Reborn, Erika, Kupra, and Legacy. Le La Angel. It also comes with a 24 color-changing HUD for the top, socks, fur boots, and earmuffs, fur jacket, inner jacket, shorts, and boots.

This was shot with the help of a big tripod, a manfrotto Magic-Arm and a really shacky ladder. Lit by a Profoto D1 in a beautydish, I used f1.4 and 1/250, ISO 64 to keep a little bit of the ambient light. Otherwise the spotlight-effect would be too strong...

Whether you agree with his politics or not George Orwell was a giant amongst twentieth century writers. I wasn't known at school for being a diligent student but two books I recall reading from start to finish were Nineteen Eighty-Four and Animal Farm. The list of phrases or statements he coined seems almost endless with many now having found a way into our everyday lives. "Big Brother" being an obvious one for a start.

This portrait depicts Eric Arthur Blair, as he was born (he took the name Orwell from a river close to Southwold) and can be found on the Southwold Pier amusement building wall.

He sure was fun to watch and photograph at the Luke Air Force base airshow in Glendale Arizona.

Asemic writing is a wordless open semantic form of writing. The word asemic means "having no specific semantic content", or "without the smallest unit of meaning". With the non-specificity of asemic writing there comes a vacuum of meaning, which is left for the reader to fill in and interpret.

Walking the Cotswold Way, a 100 mile national trail along the edge of a limestone ridge, starts at Chipping Camden and passes the old home of writer and ex-MI6 spy, Graham Greene, author of Brighton Rock and many other popular novels.

Graham Greene was related to the family of the Greene King Brewery and his mother was a cousin to Robert Louis Stevenson who wrote 'Treasure Island', 'Kidnapped' and 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekell and Mr Hyde'.

It was not a smart move to go and paint in the storm today... we painted some style pieces and kept it pretty basic. The rain must have washed away a lot of this piece by now.

Went to BFVA, had a great time, displayed my previous MOC, spent WAY too much on Lego for often I sit down and play, but found some motivation. I've been getting real interested in music, broadly speaking - performing, listening, and learning about its history. Many of the MOCs I make in the future will probably be similar to this, a musically-themed vignette. Some of y'all who've been around since my earlier days may recall my MOCathalon music entry: Piano Man

Anyway, I'm hoping MOCs will be regular from here on out, if not frequent. Sorry for the poor quality, I'm using an old camera and experimenting with different set ups. After six or seven years, it's about time.

August 20, 1992: A former L&N caboose brings up the rear of the northbound loaded Lynch Turn as it rolls through "the Chad" Yard, near Cumberland, Kentucky.

"Chad" was the hero of writer John Fox Jr.'s 1903 novel "The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come;" Kingdom Come State Park is just a few miles up the road.

Today here's a quite different photo from our "The Writer" shooting - I'm quite sure, it's not only interesting for the girls as fans of victorian inspired clothes... ;o)
