An award ceremony to award those who have demonstrated an increased enthusiasm for creative writing as a result of taking part in our Write On! Programme during the academic year 2011/12.

Poet Nick Mourning served as judge of the poetry slam at the Livonia Public Library's Write On! Live event. Nick also read and performed some of his own work for the audience.

The February theme for the group {In the Picture} is "write on" and encourages people to use words in their self-portraits.

 

Anyone who knows me in real life will laugh at this word--I am a talker. (My teacher wrote on my first grade report card, "Kellye likes to go visiting," because I would be at other people's desks, seeing what they were doing, chatting.)

 

AND more and more lately, I'm being called to be quiet. (Again, I hear my friends laughing.) I'm trying to spend a little time each morning sitting in silence. As with everything, balance is key, and I'm feeling the need to shift a bit. Obviously, BEING silenced is far different from choosing silence.
