Apparently I look adorable wrapped up in a towel :) A very wet day and a good squeeze in the towel is needed, then fun and games with Olive to dry off.
I think Margo could audition for Mary in a nativity scene in a few months time lol.

In its usual daytime role, Jermyn’s House, originally the Hillier’s family home, is an elegant 18th century manor house sitting in the 180 acres of Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. I can vouch for the lunch in the Garden Restaurant.
At the 'Light-up' show its facade made a good base for an ever-changing Christmas display.

The Yellow Garden Spider —Argiope aurantia traps his prey.
Garden spiders eat insects, including many common pests like mosquitoes and wasps. Garden spiders trap their prey by spinning webs that the insects fly into.
Not to be mistaken for the common "Banana Spider" (Nephila clavipes) these spiders also create a very interesting zig zag pattern into their webs.
Insects make up the majority of a garden spider’s diet, but they may also eat slightly larger prey, such as small lizards, if they get caught in the spiders’ webs. They can also devour moths, mosquitoes, flies, butterflies, grasshoppers, (obviously cicadas), and even small snakes.
As always, thank Y'all for your kind remarks and comments.
Hope everyone is enjoying this late Summer weekend !
The most common side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine are mild and get better within a week.
They can include:
1. A sore arm from the injection
2. Feeling tired
3 A headache
5. Feeling achy
5. Mild flu-like symptoms
This years "booster shots" (Flu and Covid19) resulted in a couple of hours where I could not get warm. Lots of layers of clothing, the heating on full and a couple of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen ). This was followed by an hour stripped to the waist sitting in front of a fan with the windows open. After that I felt pretty normal.
Minor in comparison with what getting the diseases does.
This place behind the famous "Lollipop Rock" offers a great view of the Monolith at White Pocket but lacks foreground. Determined not to give up, I contorted my body (and tripod) on the sloped sandstone to create leading lines and two bumps on the horizon. The light assisted in keeping the shot balanced. At least so I think ...

Flickr Support have asked me to leave my photograph up if it does not appear in your 'update feed' and start generating views as I would normally expect. This is so that their engineers can try to get to the bottom of the issue that continues to plague my account.
As a result this image may have fewer views and favourites than would be expected for a time.
Kein Witz. Gerade noch rechtzeitig entdeckt.

She still looks happy, curious and a little expectant. As if she wanted to wrap me around her finger. But if I hadn't unwrapped her – oh, I don't want to know what would have happened ... I still remember too well how much I banned all potentially dangerous things when the kids were little ;-) Well, I hope Tinkerbell knows herself what to do or not to do. She's already big. Well – or not. Her eye measures just 0,12 inch ;-)

Oh dear, the wires have been wrapped up, no idea why, but maybe they aren't well in the cold weather!!

I didn't notice until I uploaded the photo, but I took it through the web, the spider was the other side.

This week's theme was a lot more fun that last week's, and I have a few shots I've had to decide from. This one, however, had the most 'textile' in it, so wins and becomes my entry.
I love being able to take a shot that actually encapsulates a feeling as well as being alright to look at. Every time I look at this, I feel warm and comfortable - like the little fella is wrapping himself up tight against the world and all the scary things out there.
He's a little tired, a little cold, a little afraid - but that's okay now, because he's wrapped up and safe. Probably has a book or a feel good movie going on as well.
So for those of you feeling fragile, wrap yourself up and get better. And for the lucky sods who aren't, enjoy your Macro Monday!
It was a rather cold winter this year, for Namibian standards.
I took this photo at the stables, near Avis Dam where the temperatures can get very low at night. Best to wrap up the pipes and taps....
Have a great day, everyone!
In line with the covid rules I met with one person from a different household for my daily exercise. As we walked along the boardwalk we came across a shocking pink stool (as you do!). We couldn’t decide if the the rules allowed us to sit down while exercising but not wanting to miss the opportunity we stopped and took a few shots. It’s not every day you come across a pink stool on a beach.
26th February 2020:
Stuck at home day and although the sun made an effort, it was *very* cold out and the grey clouds were banking up ... again.
Surfchild. had reminded me the other day that I had some bubble wrap in my oddment box, so I tried playing around with it. Came up with this which when I uploaded it onto the laptop, looked really creepy!

Another Picture Winter catch-up. Tracey wanted us to photograph something to do with a towel. This assignment didn't click for me. This house is so cold in the winter that we rush from shower to getting dressed -- very little towel time in between! So I went to the kitchen instead.
My neighbor made this basket for me a few years ago. It has built in slots for a kitchen towel. We use it to keep things like rolls, tortillas, and baked potatoes warm at the table.

The origin of “Man in the Street”. The phrase was first used in 1831, to mean an average or ordinary person. The phrase likely reflected an increased interest in the political opinions of average men, since they were becoming enfranchised for the first time.
Nowadays we don't believe anything a politician says.
Today the central heating system stopped working.
Luckily my youngest son trained as a plumber and heating engineer - so diagnosing the problem was OK - but its Sunday in a national lockdown.
Getting spare parts - no chance until tomorrow.
Stay home, stay safe, get vaccinated when you can.
Stay warm if you can.

We had just wrapped up another morning game of ball with Shizandra when I took this photo. She carries the ball into the breezeway and we put it in it's special box for the next day.
Unlike other dogs, Bella actually LOVED getting wrapped up in my scarf. She was a perfect model as she gave me several shots in this session. She is one of the most well behaved dogs I pet sit for... and she's young too. Don't know exactly how old as she's a rescue dog, but somewhere around a year old.
this was the room i stayed in at my grandparent's house. they have the nicest home everrrrr laksjdfjsadf! seattle houses are so so pretty and they have humongous windows, which i always love.

This weekend I set out to photograph fireworks during the pyrotechnic show in Lake Havasu, Arizona. It's four nights of professional fireworks they are set off sporadically, not always for the show.
After some frustration and blurry photos the first night, I learned a few tricks. The second and third nights rendered some fairly good images. The fireworks show by the Western Pyrotechnic Association was fantastic.
This one made we think of a gift wrapped up with a bow. The star trails were an added bonus.
It's wild when they get wrapped up before I even get there! Hope you all have a great week!
