A very worried Mr. Warren
With this blast of winter weather, we have -3C/26.6F this morning, sunny though. it will snow again tonight. No water and the power outages are every other hour for an hour.
My sidekick 9 year old great grand dog hears the growing wind which is making her nervous. She already knows something is up with me and is sticking close. I adore her.
This is Tofu after Cleo had taught him a lesson because he had tried to steal one of her kibbles. In fact she only hissed which is a friendly reminder in Cleo's world, but Tofu is a sensitive plant. :)

Okay, I'm violating the rules by posting this image which is not mine, nor do I have permission to use it, but it was just too rich to not put it up--maybe for just a brief time. I don't know if the photographer deliberately managed to place the Jesus sign in the background, or if it was serendipitous. But either way, it's dripping with irony.

Friends, this picture belongs into our Island Story - but no story today. Kangsom is undergoing an operation later today or tomorrow. No small thing. Unexpected. She is naturally scared. I am worried. What kind of health care will she get? Feeling powerless. This young Lady has gone through enough the last three years. How many curved balls can life throw?

Update 27 Nov. - we're in luck

I have to confess to getting a little worried at this point on my ascent of Side Pike! The inversion seemed to be climbing as quickly as I was and a thought it may not be possible to actually get above it!
I needn't have worried though as I climbed further the misty cloud settled and drifted back down to the valley sides, revealing the Langdale Pikes and surrounding Peaks. I took this hand held with my little camera as I climbed Side Pike, just in case the cloud continued to rise and I couldn't get a tripod shot on my big camera from the summit.
As it was I got quite a few decent shots from the summit as the sun began to set. I will post a panorama of the late scene just before Christmas.
Please do not worry i am fine 😊
but i like his face 😟

On the streets of Bali.
This image has actually been captured through the window of a moving car. There are telltale signs of reflection/diffraction from the car window on the front of the box that the man is sitting on. Even so, I'm rather pleased with this outcome, given that I had 2 seconds tops to capture it.
We were so worried about survival
And the end of the world
We forgot to have a simple daydream
About the way Winter has its own melody
How ice clings to a pane
In a temporary way that somehow still
Feels like Forever
And the frozen daggers that drip
Remind us of our own inner homeostasis
Isn’t it so sad
When our time of reverie is up
And we have to join the world again?

I am always so worried when these tyrants get in and roll back environmental protections that affect entities that can't even vote. Anyway, this mushroom was found in Scotland actually in a private park I didn't actually realize was private because there was an open gate I entered through and it was quite large. After exploring for awhile, I realized I couldn't actually leave the park because all of the gates were now closed and locked from the inside and I ran into an older woman who had family visiting from Eastern Europe who agreed to let me out when I explained what happened. "I guess I can't have you hopping the wall" she said as I felt vaguely like I had been trapped in some kind of postmodern fairy tale.
These were oddly the only mushrooms or cluster of mushrooms I found in Scotland despite it being so cool and damp when I was there, which surprised me.

I went to our local Woolworth to see what they had for Halloween and I found myself being watched. Maybe I should confront this employee I thought and was stumped by the worried look. Is it possible redundancies are on the agenda?
PS: Until I went close to this skeleton (life size) I had no idea it had eyes, it was almost a bit scary
It was a very foggy morning for my walk. These cows did not seem worried but by walking round them I missed a finger post. Only a small diversion was needed though.
OLEG:
What's wrong with you Aurora? You look so worried.
Don't you like living with Mummy Marian?
I understand you miss Antartica.
AURORA:
Oh no...I don't miss Antartica and I like living with Mummy Marian.
It's just...well...I worry about Nanuk you know.
It's summer here in the Netherlands and that means on the other side of the world, like Australia, it's winter.
And...and...Nanuk can't stand the cold.
Peter sees Aurora and Oleg sitting on the swing set and comes running.
PETER:
Aurora!!!!! What's wrong with you? Are you sick? Do you have a fever?
OLEG:
Peter! Take it easy and get off that swing set.
Soon you'll fall off.
PETER:
Sssst! Watch your heart Oleg. You're not the youngest anymore.
Ex ..i..met...err...doing like that is not good for your age
OLEG:
Please Peter listen to me
Aurora is worried about Nanuk and I'm trying to explain that she doesn't have to be. So let me have a word with her will you!
PETER:
You're not being nice to me again Oleg
OLEG:
No need to worry dear Aurora.
I'm sure Daddy Jesse will take good care of Nanuk and I also know Paddy is a caring bear who has a lot of experience, just like me.
Besides, we can always visit and see how he is doing.
AURORA:
Thank you Oleg!
You are so wise.
I'm not worried anymore
PETER:
Shall we visit Nanuk now?
I want to play with Scout and I want to see my dearest princess Rosie!
AURORA:
Oh...yes...can we go to Nanuk Oleg?
I would also like to see Scoutie with his sweet little nose again
OLEG:
No we can't go now.
This week we have to help Mummy Marian
She needs us...you knew that, right?
PETER:
After helping Mummy Marian, we may then visit??
OLEG:
I need to discuss that with Daddy Jesse and Paddy first.
The Dragon was sitting at the backdoor and wanted to go in but Cleo was blocking the entrance. That's something she does quite often and usually the boys just jump over her but they always think twice before they do it. Even if Cleo is less agile than her younger brothers, she has sharp claws and a fierce determination to show her superiority.

When you are at a scenic outlook and trying to capture the beauty of the scene sprawled in front of you, the overgrowth of vegetation around you can get quite annoying. I have been to overlook points where the new growth view has wholly obstructed the view. While most places usually don’t get that bad, there needs to be an expectation for some obstruction in your way.
An obstructed view can be quite a struggle, especially when you have driven hundreds of miles. But as I spent more time with the camera, I started to come to terms with the nature of wild places. They tend to be unruly and chaotic, and in there lies their beauty. One technique that has helped me navigate these types of conditions is being creative while framing up my shot.
On our recent Northern Cali Trip, we only had a day budgeted for Brookings, Oregon. When we got there, we encountered cloudy, overcast conditions, but I was not too worried since I expected that. But almost every outlook point seemed to be obstructed by some overgrown tree or hedge. So at this location, I had the opportunity to shoot the coast looking south and used the overgrown vegetation as a natural frame for the scene. Tree branches sticking into a scene is something you usually avoid in composition but intentionally doing it to imply the nature of your surroundings works rather well. Here I used them to portray this scene's primordial character, and I think it works rather well.
Sempre lei, la donna della funicolare. Per caso davanti a me, nel breve tratto di una fermata.

A bit shaky photo. I wanted to capture the worried faces in the woods. In the woods the animals remain alert of any intrusions.
I found this Cabbage white butterfly (Pieris rapae) on a New England aster (Aster novae-angliae) blossom earlier in the month. There are still some butterflies around but most of the aster's yellow has faded to brown. There are no vegetables in the garden so I'm not worried about the Cabbage white caterpillar's appetite. Yesterday we challenged record heat and the first frost will come leter this week, ah Autumn.
