Never thought I would like the modern Sub as much as I do today. In fact, I never even expected myself to like the Sub Date. All this while, the goal was a 14060 but I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this 116610.
The new enhancements - glidelock, solid links, maxi dial, ceramic bezel, are all very good additions. I personally prefer the green Superluminova of older Subs and am impartial to Rolex's Chromalight.
So I finally picked up a Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red - designed as a homage to the Double Red SeaDweller. At a fraction of the price, of course, and with the bulletproof ETA2824 movement.

Bringing some of my Seikos out for a clean-up. The LE SRP453 baby blue tuna is up for sale, and I've recently just added the SKX007 to the line-up.
Vintage looking Bambino that ticks all the right boxes. Fantastic watch for under $200, mimicking the Zeniths and Rolexes from the past. I'd initially wanted to pick one up with a cream dial, Roman numerals, and blue hands, but eventually settled for this. Strapped a #wornandwound Crimson Model 2 for that old-school look.
Think I prefer a darker strap, though.

The Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military is a homage to the rare and interesting model of the Rolex Submariner, the ref. 5517 Mil-Sub. The 5517 was a military issue Submariner for the British Royal Navy in the early 70’s.

Taking my LLD out for some sun, paired with my #madebyberg bracelets. Love the LLD; although I'm looking for a Horween strap to go with this...
After a very long time, I decided to purchase a springbar remover so that I could remove the strap/bracelet myself.
Doesn't look as easy as it seems; you need a light touch, and quick fingers... and I'm a clumsy oaf. I've added some scratches to the back of my speedy, and a slight tear on one half of my Hirsch strap, but its okay. Part and parcel of learning.
