Aug. 5, 2012: Shaft of light on passenger car at Travel Town Museum in Los Angeles, California. The museum opened in 1952 and is located in the northwest corner of Griffith Park. The museum currently owns over 40 engines, cars, and other rolling stock. #traveltownmuseum #griffithpark

Feb. 16, 2014: The Union Ice Company sign on display at the Strathearn Historical Park and Museum in Simi Valley, California. After Googling the company, I found a 1987 Los Angeles Times article. The Union Ice Company began in San Francisco in 1882 after five competing ice companies combined forces - ending a price war. The company survived the San Francisco Earthquake and the arrival of the home refrigerators. In the 1980s, the company relocated to Van Nuys. Jan. 25, 2015: Rigging is secured after cruises by the tall ships Hawaiian Chieftain, left and Lady Washington in Ventura Harbor. Since 2006, the two tall ships visited ports all along the West Coast. In June 2019, the Hawaiian Chieftain failed a U.S. Coast Guard Inspection. Ship operator, Gray's Harbor Historical Seaport Authority, reports that repairs would exceed the value of the ship.
