This is a segment of something larger im working on. This will probably change somewhat for the final image. Uninventive name sorry, couldnt come up with anything better
The background to my General Election Piece.
A sheet of hand made paper has been stitched on to a rectangle of calico and then wet and rubbed back in places.
I have then added a stitched red graph on top.
Mixed media.
This is a work in progress. This is the first day's painting. I have no lines or plan you can see I just paint right on the white paper.
I am in the process of machining the base fabric to a Calico backing.
Done of this stitching will be overlaid at a later stage by applique but I wanted some texture and pattern underneath.
The symbols I have used represent policy changes and "U" turns .
This piece will be about the policies introduced during the premiership of Margaret Thatcher

torbellamonaca è un quartiere periferico di roma. situato oltre il grande raccordo anulare, il quartiere appare estraneo, più di altri, dalle dinamiche e dalle connessioni con la città. nei suoi palazzi è condensata un'umanità precaria, talvolta illegale, spesso alle soglie della povertà. tra le sue mura, a tratti carcerarie, si aprono varchi che conducono a inaspettati giardini, biblioteche, centri di aggregazione. in uno di questi varchi si è inserito il Laboratorio Museo di Arte Sperimentale de "Gli Amici", supportato dalla Comunità di Sant'Egidio e diretto dalla giovane Maria Carosio. Parte da qui la nostra esplorazione nel quartiere.

A very special friend has a birthday coming up soon, and she deserves a special little stitchy treat. :)
To no one’s surprise as soon as her purpose was fulfilled JoJo was let go with the hope of being passed on to the next child. She stayed 3 days out in the street until I decided to do something, I would see in those 3 days how she was ignored every time and tossed around. When I take her home shes slightly dirty but nothing serious while still having a smile… I take JoJo to her new home the home of a man with a corrupted head. In all seriousness I wanted to try and help by cleaning her or doing something, I ended up altering her physically while trying to convey a new emotion. All I hope now is that I don’t have the same fate as Sid. - Materwelon Man

How long does it take to form. tune, and decorate an ocarina of this size? The answer is probably, "Too long to ever recover the time invested". Ultimately, the additional time to bisque fire, glaze, glaze fire (repeatedly) will put the pricing of higher quality pieces out of reach...which is cause for reflecting upon the question, "Why do you really do this?"
