These were a pair of my husbands old work boots. When they were worn out and discarded I planned to fill them with flowers in the spring. Other things were happening though and the boots were left in a corner forgotten about.
Shoe Show, for Smile on Saturday.
Thank you to every one who takes time to view, fave or comment on my picture.
Happy Saturday !
A railroad worker inspects the passenger platforms at Chicago's LaSalle Street Station. After this photo was taken, when he thought no one was looking, he briefly broke into the Safety Dance.

I looked for a bright coloured boot lace without success. In the end I settled on a piece of insulated wire. Rufflander work boots size 10, style 108, "Well Worn" .. "Bow".. "Looking close on Friday"..
With all the pruning going on to get rid the low-hanging or dead branches, it's getting to be more branches than yard out here! I seem to be generating piles faster than they're getting cleared up. Good thing I have tomorrow off, so I can put a serious dent into the cleanup.
This week's Macro Monday theme was "personal footwear" with extra points if we took a photo of our shoes while wearing them.
Chalk me up for the extra points...
Just to let you know if you didn't already but a macro lens lets you get three inches from your subject.
I put one foot on my bumper and hunched over real close to take this photo. Close enough to smell my feet and I just got done with a 12 hour work day.
They are currently airing out in the garage.
I know this image probably looks posed, but it wasn’t. Craig was a workman helping to dismantle the tents etc. after the Manchester Jazz Festival in Albert Square. When I decided to take the picture Craig was looking straight ahead and taking a drink of water from the jug, as I pressed the shutter he turned his head to look straight at me; too late, the image was taken. He gave me a thumbs up and then came over to see what I had shot and asked what I was going to do with the image; I told him I would probably put in on Flickr, he smiled and then left. A little while later I caught up with him and asked if he would like a copy; he said "that would be great". I took his email address and sent a copy to him; he replied and was thankful for me doing so. This was the only shot I got of him. The image was shot through a wire mesh fence.
In all the candid pictures I have taken he is the first person ever to approach me and ask to see what I had taken; good for him, people often look and glare at me but never say anything. If people did object, obviously I would delete the image in front of them….!
These boots were left behind by one of the many snow removal folk who worked around the area this winter - I couldn't resist "borrowing" them for a little photo shoot. I'll return them later today in case he/she comes back for them though they've been sitting untouched under the road sand tarp for over a month now, so I doubt that will happen...
