I tried a tutorial from Nico Brons on the site theappwhisperer.com and partly it is my creativity inspired by a friend :)

As always, a photo each day for 365 days. All shot and edited using Apps on my iPhone 5.

The photo was taken using the camera App KitCam for iPhone and saved as a TIFF file before any editing. The original image can be found below.

First of all I used Snapseed to edit the image. The edits were made by cropping the image into square. I then applied a Drama filter. Next I used the App called Wood Camera to apply a Texture called Aquatic 1 to the picture. I then used PicFX to add the Bokeh light effects and some more texture. Finally I used the App Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Cole overlay and the Vanilla Texture.

The original photo was taken this evening overlooking some waste ground not far from where I live.

The image for today was taken in Upper Spon Street in Coventry. It is a view of the Ruins of the Chapel of Saints James & Christopher. Not much is really known about the Chapel. It is thought that it dates from the 15th Century. It was made of Sandstone and was probably a craft Chapel for the local weavers. The Ruins are classed as Grade II listed.

The photo was taken using the App Camera+ on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Handy Photo to edit the picture. I used the retouch feature to edit out the Bin and the Street sign from the image. I also cloned part of the bush at the side of the ruins into the windows of the ruins. This was to help hide the newer building that lies behind the structure. Next I used the app called Wood Camera to add the Merida filter, the Aquatic 2 texture and a dark vignette. I then used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Bliss texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Warm Preset, a medium dark Vignette. I then added the Antiqued texture and the Charcoal frame.

Street life in a city like any other.

bottle - wet collodion on glass plate

my first experience with the wet collodion on glass plate; a friend teached me how to make it; he was the photographer, I was his assistant.

ma première expérience avec le collodion humide sur plaque de verre; un ami m'a initié à cette technique; il était le photographe, j'étais son assistant.

©2010 Phillip Nesmith - I have recently returned from a three week trip to the coast of south Louisiana to photograph in the community of Grand Isle with the wet collodion process. For some background on my initial ideas about the project please view the Kickstarter funding site.

This image is a 5x7 black glass wet collodion ambrotype of a commercial fishing vessel based out of Grand Isle. This vessel stands alone at the docks, the others out on the water, their captains having singed on with BP to conduct skimming operations.

We will see you at Flow?

This image was made during a three week expedition to use the wet collodion process to document moments making up the worse oil spill disaster in U.S. waters/lands.
