A wonderfull clear night down on Portland with the Milky Way clearly visible with the naked eye....... but this shot definitely came with some challenges, firstly the lighthouse itself taking about 15 secs for the light to do a full rotation, which only left around 8 secs to capture the Milky Way before getting burnt out by the light, and then the composition, taking 3 portrait shots to stitch together to get everything in without a leaning lighthouse! Overall I am pretty pleased with the result!
Portland Bill Lighthouse is a functioning lighthouse at Portland Bill, on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. The lighthouse and its boundary walls are Grade II Listed.
As Portland Bill's largest and most recent lighthouse, the Trinity House operated Portland Bill Lighthouse is distinctively white and red striped, standing at a height of 41 metres (135 ft). It was completed by 1906 and first shone out on 11 January 1906. To date, the lighthouse guides passing vessels through the hazardous waters surrounding the Bill, while also acting as a waymark for ships navigating the English Channel.

Der First ist eine Verflachung des Südwest-Rückens zum Widderfeldgrätli (2'632 m ü. M.) im Berner Oberland nördlich oberhalb von Grindelwald. Er ist über eine Gondelbahn oder zu Fuss erreichbar. Die obere Bergstation heisst ebenfalls First (2'167 m ü. M.) und steht den Besuchern im Winter und im Sommer mit einem gut ausgebauten Ski- und Wandergebiet zur Verfügung.
Besonders beliebt ist die Wanderung zum Bachalpsee und weiter zum Faulhorn, die ein spektakuläres Panorama mit Blick auf den oberen Grindelwaldgletscher sowie Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau bietet. Eine weitere interessante Wanderung führt auf das Schwarzhorn. Östlich von First liegt 5,6 Kilometer zu Fuss entfernt die Grosse Scheidegg."

Vige is an urban area in Kristiansand in Vest-Agder in the district of Kongsgård upper Gimlekollen. Vest-Agder Museum (Kristiansand) with open-air museum, old houses from Kristiansand, Vest-Agder and Setesdal. Kløvertun nursing homes and care homes are located opposite the museum along Vigeveien.
The area was excreted as a separate parcel under the Upper Kongsgård in the 19th century. At Topdalsfjord there is a large harbor and industrial area with freight port (Godshavn Vige) with exit from E18. At the exit there is also a Shell gas station.
There used to be a large sawmill here. Before the first Varodd bridge was completed in 1956, Vige was the ferry port for the Vige-Torsvik ferry to Torsvik in Randesund on the other side of the Topdalsfjord. wikipedia

A Southern Railways U Class loco rattles along the Churnet Valley line in the Staffordshire moorlands countryside with a mixed freight train during a Russ Hillier Photo Charter.
Went to join a strobist session early in the morning today at 7.30am.
Strobist and flash is one area that I need to pursue after dabbling in macro, landscape, nightshots, portraits.....
Was quite fortunate to have a good teacher that made strobist simplied for us :) And he was volunteering his time too, sharing freely with us!
