Witney Market began in the Middle Ages. Thursday is the traditional market day but there is also a market on Saturday. The buttercross in the market square is so called because people from neighbouring towns would gather there to buy butter and eggs. It was built in about 1600 and its clock was added in 1683. Mostly narrow - with parked cars and busy traffic, it's tough for a double-decker bus to navigate their narrow curves. Tough for camera shake, too (not to mention shooting through dirty glass). But the place is so picturesque and the high viewpoint of the top deck provides nice views... An opportunity not to miss - focus or not :)
Great location near Witney, Oxfordshire to capture some creative shots as the sun was going down. The addition of a light in the ruins helped create an ethereal glow and a full-moon helped light the building.
A creative edit of the light trace from 'The Superbowl' fairground ride at Witney Feast.

Witney was very accommodating. First she agreed to be photographed. Then when I suggested that we cross the road to sit on a nearby bench, she agreed again. We had barely sat down when the sun came out from the clouds, making intense shadows across her face. I asked if it be alright to move to the covered shopping arcade nearby. Witney agreed again.
Witney works in customer care. Her friendly easy-going manner must be a real asset in her job. She agreed that she gets on well with people. Witney likes art and used to enjoy painting, especially working with oil paints. She hasn’t done it for a while. Her boyfriend works in Street. He is a barber. I’ve probably seen him cutting hair when I have walked past his shop, on my way to or from Glastonbury.
Thank you Witney for being part of my project. It was great to meet you.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. A shot taken with my camera phone just across the road from my house......
I've not finished with London uploads, I've just temporarily run out of processed shots. Luckily I always have a few shots on standby to fill in at short notice.
There's not many in my compact / camera phone set but for those interested here they are : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/sets/72157633693901050
