Crazy Tuesday: "Fill Your Frame With Yellow" theme

We have surprisingly few yellow things around the house, so a view of the backside of this yellow lamp will have to do.

Macro Mondays theme- Handle With Care

Broke a beer bottle...me bad ;)~

"This little witch with her magic broom, which makes the cleaning up after the Halloween Party a lot easier, (it took her only 5 minutes!!) is on her way back home. She looks a little bit tried, but is also very satisfied the job is done!

I wish I had a broom like that too…….. " ;-))

Name: Origami Witch

Design: Kamikey ( please correct me if I'm wrong)

There is a video-tutorial in three parts, so you can try to fold it too, if you want ;-))

Folded from 3 pieces of paper:

-one sheet of black kami-paper (15x15cm) for the head

-one sheet of black kami-paper (15x15cm) for the body

-one rectangle of brownish kami-paperpaper (7,5x15cm for the broom

Normally I don't give the origami models artificial eyes, but in this case it makes it more alive ;-))

Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act.

Taken at Pale Moonlight

A ring-necked duck floating around Pond 6 with purpose. A poorly named duck. In just the right light you can see a faint chestnut-colored ring around the base of its neck. Not a great mark to identify this species in the field, but according the the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the ring around the neck stood out to a 19th century biologist that described the species using dead specimens. I've never seen a dead one, so I'll have to take their word for it.

With white morning cap - adieu

You make beautiful sunsets. Not sharp one's...

Wolf spiders are a remarkable group of arachnids found across the UK and around the world. These agile hunters get their name from their wolf-like hunting style, actively chasing down prey rather than spinning webs. With their large eyes and hairy bodies, wolf spiders might look intimidating, but they’re actually quite beneficial to gardens and homes. These spiders help control pest populations and are generally harmless to humans. From their unique parenting techniques to their impressive hunting skills, wolf spiders are full of surprises.

I find the iridescence on these broad-billed hummingbirds to be just astounding. Such a gorgeous display of shimmering plumage color accented by that red beak. You can see his delicate feet hanging down.

Their feet are so delicate that hummingbirds are incapable of walking or hopping. Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, Arizona.

Butternut squash with a dollop of blue cheese on a wee piece of crisp bread......delicious, healthy! Gone fast....

Silently gliding through the water, graceful and majestic, keeping close to its partner and their usual nesting place. I hope that their cygnets will be safe this year, and not fall prey to heron or fox like a few of them did last year.

It’s not a Secret that is kept

Our Chimney is so nicely swept

Ready for this Christmas Day

Santa is already on the Way

He brings me a Gift

And doesn’t use the Lift

But comes through the Chimney

I don’t want him to skip me
