The beautiful turquoise-brown motmot was sitting in a tree along the road as we were driving by . Fortunately we were able to stop and he did not fly away , giving us a few moments to capture some images before he left. I was thrilled as yoou do not see them that often.

And staying with the dandelion theme...there were a lot of dandelions out that day in the woods, but we found a clearing where there were bluebells scattered amongst the grass.

19:52 Using artificial light
I think most of you know of my forays into the neighbors' yards to shoot their flowers. Well, today I wanted dandelion seedheads, so, with bucket in hand, I walked for several blocks, and picked off the seedheads off the dandelions from peoples' yards. I'm sure they would be happy about that, right?
Then you can imagine how long it took me to stuff them into six bottles. All for a shot :)

Celebrated my birthday over the weekend...Guess I was taking too long to make my wish-the candles almost melted away!
If this was in July it could be a perfect day swimming and picnicking on this small beach. Today at -10 Celsius it was hard to get out of the car to take a photograph of this gorgeous little spot.
