So.. not paying attention, as usual...I thought the next challenge was Royal Wedding... which after looking at the challenge list... I found out is not the case. No matter, I'm going to hoard this to myself anyway:)
I want to give credit inspiration where it is due. When I saw AK's locket in her flicker pool.. I couldn't get over it. It was so beautiful and it reminded me that indeed anything can be made out of wire. This is also the first time I have really woven wire like this and I have an even deeper level of respect for you ladies that do this on a continual basis.
The name of this is Queen Mum. A play on words, it is a pink freshwater pearl mum. It is made with varing gauges of copper wire, looking like rose gold against the pearls. It has a bow shaped bale that also acts as the clasp. It is very strong and snaps right into place when you close it.
It has a 36" pearl chain necklace that hooks into the bale which can be removed and doubled.
I'm going to do more in other colors. Since I am keeping this one, I'm going to line it in raspberry silk velvet and put a lock of hair that I saved from each one of my sons' first haircuts on the inside:)

I LOOOOVE the way this pendant turned out!
This stone is subtle, with rivers of red fossilized algae, but the setting is not! This gorgeous piece of art for your neck is guaranteed to make a statement!
What is this odd-looking stone?
Mary Ellen Jasper, also known as a type of Stromatolite, is a fossilized dark red algae with Hematite throughout the matrix. Stromatolites were the dominant life form in marine environment thousands of years ago.
I made this for a 3 year old girl.
This is the smallest pendant I have ever made.
Sterling silver wire, freshwater pearl.
Gorgeous handmade polymer clay focal lentil bead, designed and crafted in the mokume gane technique by artist/designer, J Caird. The bead is wrapped with sterling silver wire and embellished with Swarovksi crystal bicones. Bail is large enough to string on an omega chain. See other photos with coordinating items made with this same blend of clay such as earrings, bracelet and wire wrapped ring.
Black glass beads are complemented by 6 spirals of dark golden brown gunmetal. Open design to fit any finger.

The deepest of Blue and hints of Sea green is like looking into a sparkling pool of magical water... The Blue Glass cabochon is hand coiled and netted in a lace center bezel of antique silver brass. The hand coiled wrap is accented with all things found in a mermaids collection... Blue freshwater pearls, blue zircon swarovski crystals and a very detailed antique silver sea star, and highly detailed Mermaid, creates the Deep Blue Sea Mermaid Pendant.
