The big lightpole in the middle of the screen really annoyed me. I wanted to rocketjump using the round walls to get further. Place the pole between the two round things.

I was already making more macros of printed circuit boards. This has in the past always worked quite well, but as close as here I am never approached due to the then low depth of field, it lacked the viewer just a lot of information about the board.
In these images, I've done two things differently:
Setup as shown us by Tilo Gockel (Thanks Tilo, cool idea!) Supplemented with slight brightening by a flash with blue gel. So I wanted to make the PCB a bit upbeat.
Then 15-20 photos made with migratory sharpness, which were afterwards rendered with a Stacking software into a single image.

I find especially the blurry photos quite aesthetically.

On Monday, July 11, 2016, Mike and I headed to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to exchange our Florida driver's licenses for Texas ones. Given the lengthy wait ahead of us, we decided to visit the nearby Texas DPS Historical Museum and Research Center (5805 N. Lamar Blvd.) to kill some time.
Here, you can see one of the vintage DPS equipment displays in the museum's main exhibit room. This case features a dial-up wiretap transmitter that dates to the 1960s.

Protesters at the University of Georgetown (maybe?) who stood holding that sign with hoods over their faces to protest Attorney General Gonzales' spin on the warrantless wiretapping scandal. The people standing with no hoods spontaneously joined the protest when it occurred.
This big ear in the rock is prankish memorial to wiretapping, secret police and informers. Bretschneider is informer known from Hasek's novel The Fateful Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk During the World War. You can find it by quarry near Lipnice nad Sazavou. There, on the castle are also festivals and events every summer.

One of the things I love about the plains in winter is all the hawks are so easy to spot. And this one made it really easy, with just sitting on a wire. He had no fear of us, let us walk up right under him, and even helped us out by facing the sun to keep his head out of the shadows.

Code talking, the practice of using complex Native American languages for use as military code by American armed forces, got its start during World War I. The German forces proved not only to speak excellent English but also to have intercepted and broken American military codes.
An American officer, Colonel A. W. Bloor, noticed a number of American Indians serving with him in the 142nd Infantry in France. Overhearing two Choctaw Indians speaking with each another, he realized he could not understand them. He also realized that if he could not understand them, the same would be true for Germans, no matter how good their English skills. Besides, many Native American languages have never been written down. With the active cooperation of his Choctaw soldiers, he tested and deployed a code, using the Choctaw language in place of regular military code.
The first combat test took place on October 26, 1918, when Colonel Bloor ordered a "delicate" withdrawal of two companies of the 2nd Battalion, from Chufilly to Chardeny. The movement was successful: "The enemy's complete surprise is evidence that he could not decipher the messages", Bloor observed. A captured German officer confirmed they were "completely confused by the Indian language and gained no benefit whatsoever" from their wiretaps.
Native Americans were already serving as messengers and runners between units. By placing Choctaws in each company, messages could be transmitted regardless if the radio was overheard or the telephone lines tapped. (1)
