A couple weeks ago my Time Capsule stopped working out of the blue. After a failed attempt to use a Belkin router, we payed the extra money to get an Airport. While on the phone with Apple tech support on Saturday I randomly asked if they had heard about the Capsules failing after 16 months. Turns out they have a recall on the first generation so 2 days later, I received a free replacement and just have to send my defective one back to them. Now that's service!

I've noticed some really clever wireless network names (other than linksys). It is getting hard to think up new ones, almost as much pressure as choosing a fantasy football name, you never know who is going to see it.

I didn't think to hard about my current one. I chose "Hamsterdam". Yup, that's how much I love The Wire.

Ironic that the only open discoverable network around my place is called "Security".

Lamar Smith toured The University of Texas at Austin’s wireless research lab recently while announcing he obtained a $1.2 million appropriation for electrical engineers to create advanced wireless communication devices for military use. The Defense Appropriations Bill, which the U.S. House of Representatives passed with funds directed toward developing advanced broadband wireless integrated circuits at the university, contained the funds requested by Smith.

External networking devices like the multi modem are designed for rugged industrial and outdoor applications.

I have no idea who named their network "KushIsMyCologne." I'd like to think it's the kid of the Sheriff deputy across the street. Even though they have pot grower documentaries on TLC these days, this is a little blatant... for kicks, I downloaded the police scanner app. I'm such a nosy old man.

Errrg -- just spent almost 3 hours figuring out why our wireless router wasn't working. And found out on our own (after spending time with Comcast Signature Support) that we just needed to update the airport on the computer. (-_-)°* We should have just listened to the Mac and followed it's direction. ••3
