The Battle of Wireless Ridge, in the centre right foreground, was an engagement of the Falklands War which took place on the night from 13 to 14 June 1982, between British and Argentine forces during the advance towards the Argentine-occupied capital of the Falkland Islands, Port Stanley.
Wireless Ridge was one of seven strategic hills within five miles of Stanley at 51°40′14″S 57°55′55″W that had to be taken in order for the Island's capital to be approached. The attack was successful, and the entire Argentine force on the Islands surrendered later that day.
This shot was taken from Mt Longdon, looking back towards Wireless Ridge, centre right and Port Stanley in the distance on the right.

There are still a few wires around the end of the old fence, but nothing connects the fence posts through the flowers. These wildflowers have taken over a clearing in Bridger-Teton National Forest, Wyoming. HFF.
Getting the stage ready for a 'super spreader' event at Crystal Palace Park this coming weekend. Had a quick look at the line up. Not my sort of thing at all, even if I were 45 years younger and there wasn't a pandemic ;-)
I never leave home without my 3-year oid Samsung Galaxy bluetooth earbuds for music listening and for those impromptu Zoom meetings I can do on the go with my smartphone.

Obviously out of order and obsolete, we found this pay phone in a home-made shelter in the middle of nowhere.
A very old 'wireless' radio.

I used to live in Tokyo and thought that the profusion of overhead cables there was greater than anywhere else. But Bangkok beats it. Hands down. Look up and the first thing you see is a veritable spaghetti of wires.
This shot was taken on - of all places - Wireless Road and is part of the Thai lines and My Thai - a cocktail of shots sets.
Amtrak P42DC no. 88 is seen leading Northeast Regional train 157 down the Hartford Line, passing under the first catenary bridge at the north end of Cedar Hill Yard. Though this structure no longer holds catenary, the train will soon be under wires from New Haven, CT to Washington, DC, only emerging from under them after departing the latter as it continues its journey to Norfolk, VA.

I don't see these very often so It was a pleasant surprise to come across this one. It stayed in view long enough for me to get a few shots.
