Captured for Telegraph Tuesday, Nice Wonderful Tuesday Clouds and Keep Portland Wired. HTT and NWN everyone!

I'm guessing that mythical beings with wings would quickly get tangled into the wires of a modern city. Or camp on all the different poles and giant billboards to turn into vantage points, like cats. Never mind, at least you can look cool while falling with style. I added the dove to sum up my current mood. Stay derpy everyone.

Thank you for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated.

WB TP&W train is crawling over Farmdale Trestle on a beautiful march afternoon. I had my normal drone problem as of late. Fly the drone to the shot, not knowing exactly how far the train is away. Then flying the drone back to me to change the battery. Then the train shows up, and I either miss the shot, or I get the shot, but not exactly how I had originally framed it. This train I heard coming as soon as I pulled the battery out. I was only able to get any kind of shot, due to the fact in was going about 10 mph here. All the wires and trees make it a little more difficult to fly in last second. Thanks to Chris for the scoop.

For the Macro Monday theme 'Wire' (October 14th 2019)

Silver wire woven into a bracelet. The bracelet (in the 2nd comment field) is made entirely of strands of silver wire. There is no soldering, just bending and weaving the silver. Even the clasp is made from strands of silver wire. This was hand-made for me by a friend who was beginning to learn metal-working at the time - 'The Adventurous Silversmith'. She made me three kinds of woven silver bracelets. Another one was used for the last MM in 2013. That one is linked through from the first comment field, and is a Roman and Viking design. ;o)

Several people have asked about my talented friend who made these lovely bracelets. She has a wide variety of metalworking skills - and other things too

www.theadventuroussilversmith.com/ Do indeed check her website out. Laurie Kern is her name, and currently she is living and working in Texas ;o)

HMM to everyone, and have a great week!

#New

Something old, something new, and no, I'm not going to marry ;) The old part first: it's the crystal beads. My Mom, magrit k., recently went through old, long-unused things and found this crystal bead necklace. She asked me if I wanted to wear it, and since I love some bling from time to time, I said, "Yes!". This leads us to the new part: the jewellery wire. The necklace had been strung and tied classically on a jewellery thread which was pretty much worn and frayed with use. So I bought jewellery wire just before Christmas and made a new necklace with the beautiful old glass beads.

It's a single photo illuminated from above by a natural light photo light, from the left and right with LED lamps (the left lamp equipped with the yellow bottle cap "filter"), and a handheld flashlight to highlight the new part: the wire. The background colour is from a huge peach-coloured amaryllis blossom that had just fallen off its stem and was already placed on the table, waiting to be photographed. Processed in DXO PL7, Color and Analog Efex, and with finishing touches in LR with the Primary Color sliders.

Wishing you a Happy, healthy, peaceful 2024, dear Flickr friends!

Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

The 0.12-inch (32 mm) diameter wires are spaced 3.0 inches (7.64 mm) apart and parallel to one another. They serve as a "see-through" barrier on a backyard deck.

I really must admit that I will always find it difficult to understand America. Sometimes it almost feels like you're speaking a different language than I. Mind you, I will soon be there to immerse myself in your culture.

Also, thanks for your comments yesterday about my travels. They are very helpful and will certainly contribute to the finalizing of my plans.

An old storm fence and a sand dune was just fine for the day.

The Atlantic Ocean and abundant sunshine satisfied this Snowy Owl's desire to have a long rest.

On the wire that imprisons us all

A final drip waits to fall

A drip of love, now that's lost

A drip of fate, as we pay the cost

Of the price of our dreams

As the rain, like tears, down it streams

Down from the infinite, illusionary skies

Down from our broken, empty eyes

Filling the prison in which stand

Soaking with blood , freedoms, now cold land

As we catch the tears that fall

In this life, that imprisons us all

I had dialed down the exposure composition for a previous shot of white flowers ( possibly Queen Anne's Lace ) and not reset it for the pole shot with the wires . Panic not as it gave me this splendid silhouette - although far too late for SSC silhouettes of last week !!

Happy Fence Friday, everyone!

Not sure this works but it was fun playing around with idea's .

Tightwire is the skill of maintaining balance while walking along a tensioned wire between two points. It can be done either using a balancing tool (umbrella, fan, balance pole, etc.) or "freehand", using only one's body to maintain balance.
