This is a wider view of an amazing sunset in late December, it is made up from two photos to get both the tree and the barbed wire in focus.

Wired, connecté !

A razor sharp start to Macro Monday ;) Just another type of fence wire (See previous shot here) that we South Africans use to ATTEMPT to protect our homes (Or perhaps, to give us a false sense of security?? Nevertheless, I wouldn't want to get cut by this wire....). HMM :)

An image from a trek across the fields on Daymer. New fencing being added to a field near to my Aunts house and produced a nice abstract.

Wire-tailed swallow is a small passerine bird in the swallow family. It has two subspecies: H. s. smithii, which occurs throughout Africa, and H. s. filifera, which is found in southern and southeastern Asia. It is mainly resident, but populations in Pakistan and northern India migrate further south in winter. This bird is found in open country near water and human habitation. Wire-tailed swallows are fast flyers and they generally feed on insects, especially flies, while airborne. They are typically seen low over water, with which they are more closely associated than most swallows.
