Highlights from a recent wedding I was asked to take photos for.
It was cold & a bit damp, but it was a pleasant service and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
One of my favorite photos from an amazing winter wedding we photographed in January, on a beautiful winter wedding day in Prince George BC. There was a fresh snowfall the night before, creating the perfect backdrop for their photos.

I fired my 580 EX into a silver umbrella just off camera right. I feathered the umbrella to the left side of the group to get a fairly even exposure across them. I believe I shot with the flash on manual half power on 24mm spread to fill the umbrella. I took a meter reading off of the dusk sky to get the saturation of the sunset.

This wedding was completely my granddaughter Lele's idea. She dressed the bride and bridesmaids, but not the groom, because he is forever getting married and never changes out of his fine tuxedo.
When Lele gets back from visiting her uncle Orion in China, I have promised her that she can photograph the complete wedding ceremony, with all the invited guests. She is a wonderful photographer, and will be able to capture the large scene in all it's glory.
This is what happened when I tried to take one simple photo of the immediate wedding party. I found the two bridesmaids, bride, and groom all running around outside, frantically searching for the wedding ring, which a very nervous Ken must have dropped amongst the flowers.

We've all heard of a white wedding but a snowy-white-wedding-with-all-white-flowers? That was a new one on me. This shot is from Billies Flower House which took care of the all-white-wedding flowers and had a few left in the cooler today.
For Annie, who once commented on my doll wedding photo that I should have included the girls all reaching for the bouquet. I answered that I couldn't get my camera to focus on that many dolls at once, so here is at least my partial attempt for you, liefste Annitje! Mal has decided it's a kind of strange photo, but interesting nonetheless. ;) I think Barbie is looking a little smug.
