Inspired by a song - "Winter" by Tori Amos.

A daisy in the lawn frozen under ice.

The New Year has "broken the ice" and entered into a new cycle of time, life and creation ... after the first week into the new 2015 have a loveliest weekend everyone ! :)

Raindrops on a rose bud.

Light rain and 16c at the moment no wonder I'm cold.

Western Australia has had a whole week of no new virus cases.

Hopefully a few more 'normal' things will be available for us to do after the premier decides on Friday.

Have a lovely day

Ned Stark was right, it is coming.....reportedly by this weekend.

Didn't we just have winter? Sure seems like it. Time to tune up the snowblower.

A silent morning at Glacier's Two Medicine area.

Thanks for your visit! Always appreciated!

Have a wonderful week!

the winter is back here in Bavaria ..... a shot of the frozen pond with an island ... morning walk...

Welcome to winter with water drops and bokeh on a mountain maple. The best I can do for a wintry image, since there is very little snow at Lake Tahoe. The recent storms that have battered coastal California have not dropped much snow on the Eastern side of the Sierra.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all.

It was icy cold when I arrived at about 07:45am, so much so that my tripod had signs of frost and my right hand was extremely cold due to its continued exposure to elements and in arranging my camera settings. Waiting patiently, 20 minutes or so, for the moment when the sun cast it's early morning light on the house and the hill to the left was rewarding as was going back to the warmth of my car.

Dower house on the horizon was built in 1563 as a private stately home and has over the centuries undergone various transformations. Currently, it has been converted to private flats. Due to its location alongside the motorway leading in and out of the city, it is a prominent landmark.

Winter perches like a bird. Wings tucked in so the soul is heard. ~Angie Weiland-Crosby

Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind

William Shakespeare

Blow, blow, thou winter wind,

Thou art not so unkind

As man’s ingratitude;

Thy tooth is not so keen,

Because thou art not seen,

Although thy breath be rude.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:

Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:

Then, heigh-ho, the holly!

This life is most jolly.

Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,

That dost not bite so nigh

As benefits forgot:

Though thou the waters warp,

Thy sting is not so sharp

As friend remembered not.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly...

Appears in As You Like It, Act II Scene VII.

The London Road Viaduct is a brick railway viaduct in Brighton, part of the city of Brighton and Hove in East Sussex, England. Built in the 1840s for the Brighton, Lewes and Hastings Railway by the locomotive engineer and railway architect John Urpeth Rastrick, the sharply curving structure has 27 arches and about 10 million bricks. It is still in constant use, and is listed at Grade II* for its historical and architectural significance. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Road_viaduct

Morning mist sits over this Welsh valley. The foreground grasses are flooded but a hard frost made the valley passable.
