A lazy sunday spent with you
is like spring in a wine glass
and then I am drunk by the river
with the sweet red taste of your lips ~ WenDee

Wine After Whiskey
Carrie Underwood
Once upon a time our world was on fire and I loved to watch it burn
Wild and reckless, never any limits, guess I had a lot to learn
'Cause fire turns to ember, embers to ashes that blow away too soon
Now everything’s after you is like having wine after whiskey
It went from do anything for you babe to you don’t even miss me
Once you’ve tasted a love that strong you can’t go back
And you can’t settle on anything less
And that’s what gets me, it’s like having wine after whiskey
Looking back I guess it's really for the best, still you’re something that I crave
Even though I know it was right to let you go, you’re a habit hard to break
I got used to being high and nothing that I try seems good enough right now
It’s all so watered down like having wine after whiskey
It went from do anything for you babe to you don’t even miss me
Once you’ve tasted a love that strong
You can’t go back and you can’t settle on anything less
And that’s what gets me, it’s like having wine after whiskey
Once you’ve tasted a love that strong you can’t go back
And you can’t settle on anything less
And that’s what gets me, it’s like having wine after whiskey

I changed to black and white, as I wanted to see if I could get a little contrast from the up lighting.
Looking straight down into the mouth of a wine bottle housing the remnants of a merlot from the Columbia Valley.
Taken for the "Macro Mondays" theme of 12/13/2021: BOTTLE(S).

Framed by a wine trellis, 2050.09 leads a Sonderzug to the Sonnwendfeier (Summer solstice festival) in Spitz on the Donau and is seen here shortly before Weißenkirchen in der Wachau. The Donauuferbahn is an exceptionally scenic line that passes through the famed Wachau valley of the Donau River. Sadly it is a victim of Lower Austrian transport policy and has had its middle segment abandoned and the remainder between Krems and Emmersdorf reduced to a weekend tourist operation with rather unphotogenic golden DMUs. Not only unfortunate from the photographers point of view but also the passengers. The line is not included in the local tarriff agreement so a strange situation prevails where a bus line and the railway operate parallel to one another on the same schedule.
Opened a bottle of wine this weekend - Decided to try something with it before I finish it off. So much snow lately - wanted to do something that felt warm.
A stack of two pictures to get the corn a little sharper.

A beautiful wine colored iris in afternoon sunshine. This year's irises were spectacular! So beautiful!
In the courtyard of the castle of Chasselas, we can better appreciate the architectural interest of the whole, as shown by the two towers which throne on one side of the building in the photo.
There was a cellar, and I tasted with a very pleasant women. She taught me that we were still in Burgundy, not yet in Beaujolais, and that they produce mostly Saint-Véran wine there.
It also seems that during the french Revolution, the villagers almost burned down the castle. They did not do it in the end, because they were afraid for their houses.
The two Saint-Véran wines that I tasted were famous, so I took a box of them. The shop had also many red wines: all the big names in Beaujolais wines (Fleury, Saint-Amour, etc.), but also great red wines from Burgundy (Pommard, Gevrey Chambertin, Alex Corton, etc.) which are usually only found in the Beaune region and in its surrounding cellars, or otherwise at prohibitive prices at wine merchants. It's rare to find so many quality choice in a cellar. they were in general at reasonable prices given the quality of the wines.
As I had to buy some wine to age it, I left with two other boxes of wine, one of Beaujolais wines, and one for the Burgundy Grands Crus . I have a good wine cellar at home, I plan to drink the great Burgundy wines in about ten years, I still have other great wines in reserve until then.
During the month of May, they are having an special day at the castle, I think I will go there again, and why not visit the cellars of the castle at that time, it is done only by appointment.

Every year in September a wine festival is held at Buda Castle to celebrate and promote the excellent Hungarian wines.
My sister made this cork board for me. It is enclosed in an old picture frame and looks beautiful. I obviously was more than willing to help with contributing the corks from drinking wine.
on the table
while we are speaking,
the light of a bottle
illuminates this moment:
drink up and remember
in every drop of gold,
in every topaz glass,
in every purple ladle,
that autumn labored
to fill these vessels
with wine; and in his labors
let the simple man remember
the dark soil and his duty
to tend the sweet grapes
