Late in the afternoon we were exiting Windsor Castle and all I could say was WOW! The sunset was amazing (and yes the above is true to colour!). The guard replied that he hoped I meant the sunset as he thought the Christmas tree was hideous - He was right - it was covered in bright blue lights - not my (or his) idea of pretty!
London 1976.
In 1976 my parents went on a city trip to London, together with my aunt & uncle.

Today I returned to Windsor for a short visit - it was the last place I'd spent the day with my mum last year, and I thought it might help me seek closure. Also, as I travel back home tomorrow it was my last chance for a while to re-visit some childhood memories; I used to cycle into Windsor and spend time along the banks of the River Thames and explore the castle (when it was still free to go inside the castle grounds)...

The real Barbara Windsor! She was on the Terrence Higgins Trust float.
Unfortunately, she did not reenact the legendary scene in "Carry On Camping" where her bra flies off while she is doing stretching exercises. Oh well.
