is sited on a old coal mine (Pit)
this memorial set aside on a hill is in memory of the coal miners who worked at Herrington Colliery......
as my grandfather who worked in a pit from the age of 14yrs old till the day he retired at 65 yrs old ..this is a constant reminder of a very fine man he was ...
