We ate our picnic lunch inside here, during another downpour !!!

My older sister recently moved, and this is her new view.

Miracle

I so wanted to stitch these two pictures together into a two photo “mosaic” but lack the skill and/or the app.

The Forth Bridge first opened in 1890

The overall length of the Forth Bridge is 2,467 metres

The main structure (portal to portal) measures 1,630 metres

The highest point of the Forth Bridge stands 110 metres above high water and 137 metres above its foundations

53,000 tonnes of steel and 6.5 million rivets were used to construct the Forth Bridge

The Forth Bridge's piers are constructed from 120,000 cubic yards of concrete and masonry, faced with 2 ft thick granite

200 trains use the bridge every day, carrying 3 million passengers each year

The total painted area of the Forth Bridge is 230,000 sq metres, requiring 240,000 litres of paint

There are 1,040 lights installed on the Forth Bridge, using approximately 35-40,000 metres of cable

57 lives were lost during the construction of the Forth Bridge

At the height of its construction, more than 4,000 men were employed

The construction of the bridge resulted in an unbroken East Coast railway route from London to Aberdeen.

I'd like to back here on a sunny day

Collage fun of some window views from Caernarfon Castle.

The red/orange glow of the Atlas rocket carrying the latest weather satellite into orbit is visible in the upper right corner of this photo taken from our window. The Kennedy Space Center is roughly 95 miles east of here.

Here is a night shot taken from my bedroom window. It's been raining all afternoon and throughout the night. We also had two thunderstorm past through earlier this afternoon.

I was parked in my car on a gloomy, rainy day, when this cute dog pulled up & put a smile on my face! It was patiently waiting for its owner to return. Hope your day is a sunny one my friends =)

Inside looking out.

Looking outside and views from within the Castle

I do a lot of waiting in the car, thanks to Covid. Sooo...snap, snap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looking southwards across part of Royal National Park and down onto the Illawarra coastline south of Sydney. One big tight U-turn about to set us up for landing at Sydney's Kingsford Smith airport.

Happy Window Wednesday!! :))

Sometimes it makes us feel quite blue

a pensum we're unable to see through

in oustretched arms just able to touch

past times: season upon season as such;

layers, cushions, comforts and pains

the memory's a penitent for what remains

of the day, in view, fading, but as yet living

the afterglow becomes a proverb forgiving

it's the pulse that fingers forgot -

from our hands touching that rident spot

still our situations are utterly retrievable

reach out, and the discovery is conceivable;

be the first and you'll never be the last

look ahead from what isn't left entirely to the past

as daylight fades, thoughts rise, stoking our inner selves

here we are, a neighbourhood of nature where we're truly ourselves.

Often times the rain comes after the scary black clouds move on. Happily, no harm came to us from these clouds.
