A wind-chime hanging under a tree near the carpark at the Casino Lawn Cemetery platitudinously exhorts us to: "Celebrate Life... Live your Dreams...Enjoy the Journey". (This also marks the end of my recent cemetery series). Casino 2011
The boys have been interested in chimes this spring, so I finally got some for our own yard that we can ring whenever we want. (They used to try to look at the neighbors' but it was never windy, and wind + chimes is kind of a complex idea for a 2 year old.)
We picked this windchime up a couple of years ago after receiving a gift certificate to a local curio shop, and absolutely love its tone. The only problem is that, despite its small size, it takes a lot of wind to move it!
This lovely little windchime is for my aunt who collects windchimes. He cost just $5, cookie cutters, star and bell from dollar tree and left over ribbon from my scrapbook stash
An eclectic collection of real crystals, green beaded chain and a metal goldtone heart adorn a rustic metal spring to create this whimsical windchime. Hang in your window and catch some sun rainbows! 12 X 3" - $35
In August, we went to visit Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine to see the windchimes! It was very lovely but also extremely hot and bright. Not my best photographic work. 😅 But it was a fun day!
I like my garden to be somewhere I can relax and potter and the windchime helps to create a good atmosphere. Not that it chimes very often. Maybe I need to find somewhere else to put it!
Sitting on my deck this afternoon, I was lulled to sleep by the soothing sounds of a wind chime.

I picked this up at the Gold Door in Portland, OR amongst the giant phalluses. It now hangs near the bird feeder and the chickadees and house finches are suspicious. The head bobs up and down like a puppet. The humming birds are not bothered. We have had some pretty good wind since I put it up and the chimes have been fairly noisy.
