Foma's liquid emulsion with hardener on Lokta paper 30x40 cm (handmade Nepalese paper, see link below if you want to know more). The paper is thin (65 gsm) so I mounted it on a FB paper to make it sturdier for the wet process. This first experiment with no pre-treatment of the paper shows how much impurities there are. I'm surprised that it became an image at all.
The halo and vignetting came as an unintended bonus :-)
Developed in Moersch SE2 1+20, fixed in Adofix PII (hardening) and toned in Se 1+9, 60 sec.
Lokta paper is handmade paper from Nepal.
Nepali kagaj or Nepali paper, is a wildcrafted, handmade artisan paper indigenous to Nepal. It is made from the bark of two of the species of the shrub Daphne.

Okay, folks with trypophobia, look away now because we've got a serious case of fungi overload! My friend is a chef, and he had morels growing in his backyard - 5lbs of them, to be exact. And get this, I got paid in mushrooms, which is probably the best form of payment ever! I mean, who needs cash when you've got $200 worth of fungi? I'm just glad my friend didn't have anything else growing in his backyard, or else I could have been knee-deep in arugula or something.

Here's what you'll find in my shower on most days:
1. African Black Soap - This is an excellent facial bar. It's great for acne & eczema too. It's my all natural 'pure but not simple' base and genuine African black soap imported from Ghana, Africa. While I'm preparing my water I'll quick grab this and lather it up and let it sit on my face. I'll leave it on as long as I can while showering before rinsing it off.
2. Shea Baby - This bar is made with 33% unrefined shea butter. I love to use when my skin starts to feel a little dryer. It's very moisturizing. The only downside of this bar is because it's made with such a high percentage of shea butter it will tend to leave a soap film in the shower. If you have a slow running drain like me, this can be a bit irritating. But who ever said life was an easy ride?
3. Lavender Jasmine Neroli - Hmmm, where do I begin with this one? This is my favorite bar of soap in the evening right before I'm ready to meet my loving husband for a night of love. This is one of the only fragrance bars I tend to use. I have mixed lavender, jasmine and neroli essential oils AND fragrance oils in this one. These three essential oils alone are all said relaxing aphrodisiacs.
4. Carrot Facial Bar - I tend to rotate this between my black soap. This one has a blend of essential oils that are perfect for my gracefully aging skin. I'm 38.
5. Dead Sea Spa Bar - This is a Dead Sea salt and mud spa bar. I've tried to capture the essence of 'Aveda' in this one. It's super revitalizing and has an awesome 'spa type' scent. All natural of course ;-)
6. Spikenard Clary Sage Jasmine - I thought that this bar would sell much better than it did. I absolutely love this bar when I'm on my dreaded moon cycle. It has a very relaxing and healing effect when I feel bloated and crampy.
7. Lavender Tea Tree Myrrh - Otherwise known as "The Unmentionable Bar". If were stranded on a desert island (I'd never want to come back!) and had to only one bar of soap it would be this one. I will wash my hair, brush my teeth and every last bit of skin with this bar. It's one of my best sellers and will good reason. It's loaded with anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties, smells clean and keeps you FRESH! I recommend this bar to men and women alike for freshness 'down there'. I even had a customer who tells me her husband let's her know when her bar is running low. Aw, how sweet of him!
8. Organic Wildcrafted Bulgarian Lavender - I've always loved lavender it's definitely on the top 3 of my favorite essential oils. This is my newest batch of lavender soap. I had been buying regular lavender and decided to splurge on this new Bulgarian lavender. And of course... I should have done it sooner! This lavender is so therapeutic. It's sweeter, more powerful and uplifts me to the outer limits of joy! Love, love, love you lavender, you never let me down.
9. Purely Patchouli with French Green Clay - Patchouli is my favorite anti-depressant. It lifts me up and gives me a burst of ambition and chases the blues away. I love patchouli alone, or mixed with almost any other essential oil. It's definitely a gem in my book!
As a side note about lavender (and patchouli for that matter). I never was much for either of them. I had been tainted by cheap imitations my whole life. Lavender smelled fake and overly floral and patchouli smelled like a stinky hippie to me. Until I found a good supplier for my oils and had tried the real thing I never know what I was missing! If anyone out there feels the same way, don't give up! There is hope!
10. Pearly White Teeth - Ooops! I almost forgot this one. This is the soap I used to brush my teeth with. See how it's curved out in the middle? That's because I use my toothbrush on it. This soap believe it or not is about 6 months old! That's quite a lot of bang for your buck :-)

Ngải tiên là cây ưa ẩm, hơi chịu bóng, ưa khí hậu mát mẻ. Năm 2000 được đưa từ Sa Pa về trồng tại Hà Nội tuy nhiệt độ có cao hơn nhưng cây vẫn sinh trưởng, phát triển tốt. Trồng ở trại thực nghiệm Cổ Nhuế cây có chiều cao trung bình khoảng 1,2m, thấp hơn trong tự nhiên khoảng 0.5-0,7m. Đường kính thân trung bình là 1,7 cm. Thân nhẵn. Lá mọc so le, không cuống, hình dải hẹp - mũi mác, nhọn 2 đầu, mặt trên nhẵn màu lục sẫm bóng, mặt dưới nhạt có lông dễ rụng. Bẹ lá to, có khía màng, lưỡi bẹ 2 - 3 cm, nguyên. Kích thước trung bình của lá là 31,6 x 6,8 cm. Cây ra hoa vào trung tuần tháng 8 hàng năm. Cụm hoa hình trứng dạng nón mọc ở ngọn thân, dài 5 -7 cm gồm nhiều lá bắc lợp lên nhau, lá bắc và lá bắc con có màu lục ở đầu. Hoa to, màu trắng rất thơm. Thân rễ mập, ít phân nhánh, có nhiều ngấn ngang, dài trung bình 38,5 cm, đường kính 2,8 cm, năng suất tươi đạt 4,2 kg/m2. Trồng sau 2 năm, vào mùa thu đông có thể thu hoạch thân rễ để chưng cất tinh dầu

The White ginger lily (Hedychium coronarium) is originally from the Himalayas region of Nepal and India where it is known as dolan champa दोलन चम्पा in Hindi, দোলনচাঁপা in Bengali, takhellei angouba in Manipuri, sontaka in Marathi, and suruli sugandhi in Kannada. The species was introduced to Hawaii by settlers. The native Hawaiians refer to white ginger as 'awapuhi', using the juice of mature seed head as a hair and skin treatment.
In Brazil it is very common and considered to be an invasive weed. It was introduced in the era of slavery, brought to the country by African slaves who used its leaves as mattresses.
In Cuba it is the National Flower, known as "Mariposa blanca" literally "White Butterfly Flower", due to its similarity with a flying white butterfly. This particular species is incredibly fragrant and women used to adorn themselves with these flowers in Spanish colonial times; because of the intricate structure of the inflorescence, women hid and carried secret messages important to the independence cause under it.[citation needed] It is said that a guajiro's (farmer's) house is not complete without a white ginger in its garden.[citation needed] Today the plant has gone wild in the cool rainy mountains in Sierra del Rosario, Pinar del Rio Province in the west, Escambray Mountains in the center of the island, and in Sierra Maestra in the very west of it, but the plant is not endemic of Cuba.
Its fragrance can be extracted by "enfleurage".

Botany
An erect shrub, 0.5 to 1.0 meters high. Leave are smooth, the lower surfaces hairy, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 10-50 cm long, 3-11 cm wide, with slender pointed tip. Ligule is prominent, 1-3 cm long. Ellipsoid spike at the end of the stem, 5-12 cm long. Bracts are green, ovate to obovate, about 4 cm long, and each with 2 or 3 flowers with a fragrance that is more pronounced in the evening. Calyx is tubular, clefted on one side, and about 4 cm long; lobes are narrow, involute, and about 4 cm long. Lip is obovate, 5-6 cm in diameter, white or pale yellow in the center. Staminodes are white, oblong-elliptic, narrowed at the base, 4-5 cm long and 2-2.5 cm wide.

Dried rhizome contains: starch, 3 %; glucose, 4.5 %; albumen, 1.6 %; fats, 0.33%; resinous acid, 3.6%; resin, 5.9 %; gum, 13.7 %; organic acids, essential oil. the flower yields a fragrant essential oil; the rhizome, a volatile oil.
Decoction of the rhizome is anti-rheumatic, tonic and excitant.
In Ayurveda, considered febrifuge, tonic, stimulant and antirheumatic.

Young buds and flowers are edible. Used as flavoring.
Roots used as famine food.
Folkloric
Decoction of stems near the rhizome used as a gargle for tonsillitis; or the raw stem chewed for same purpose.
The juice of the stem applied externally for swellings.
In India, sold in bottles of extract called Gulbakawali Ark; used as eye tonic and for to prevent eye cataracts.
In Chinese medicine, used for headache, inflammatory pains, rheumatism.
In Thailand, boiled leaves are applied to relieve stiff and sore joints.
Others
In the provinces, the fragrant flowers popular in the making of wreaths and bridal bouquets.
Stems are 45% cellulose, used in making paper.
Studies
• Antifungal / Antimicrobial / Essential Oil: The essential oil from fresh and dry rhizomes yielded 44 and 38 constituents and was shown to have antifungal and antibacterial effects. Antibacterial effects were higher in the fresh sample than the dried; both showed activity against Trichoderma sp. and C. albicans, B. subtilis and P aeruginosa.
• Analgesic / Anti-inflammatory: Different extracts of HC exhibited significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities. The effects could be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, inhibition of histamine and/or serotonin.
• Antibacterial / Cytotoxicity: Study of methanol and dichlomethane extracts exhibited antibacterial activity against Gram positive (S aureus, B subtilis, B megaterium, Sarcina lutea) and Gram negative (E coli, S sonnei, S shiga, P aeruginosa and S typhi) bacteria. Cytotoxicity was evaluated agaiinst brine shrimp nauplii.
• Antioxidant / Anti-inflammatory: Five genus of Zingiberaceae plants from Taiwan, including Hedychium, were studied for their functional properties. Hedychium sp. were found to have antioxidant properties. Most Zingiberaceae plant extracts exhibited antimicrobial activity against all food microorganisms; Hedychium did not show activity against E. coli and Vibrio parahemolyticus.
• Flower Essential Oil / Anti-inflammatory: Study on the oil exhibited significant inhibition of paw edema but showed poor antioxidant activity with DPPH. There was no direct correlation between inflammatory and antioxidant activity of the essential oil.
• Phenolics / Antioxidant: Study showed HC to have the highest phenolic content and ascorbic acid equivalent antioxidant capacity of leaves of 26 ginger species.

Overview
The butterfly, native to Southeast Asia, is a tropical perennial that grows up to 7 feet tall.
Its fragrant clusters of white - or pink flowers, resembling butterflies, grow atop the green stalks.
After some time, the flowers give way to seed pods full of bright red seeds.
The juice of the mature seeds is used as a hair and skin treatment by native Hawaiians.
The leaves are oblong and acuminate.
This plant tolerates an occasional freeze and frost will kill it to the ground but it will grow back if temperatures rise.
Once in a while there is an evening where Art still has leftovers from the bean stew he made last night, the girls had chicken Caesar wraps earlier and I’m left with no particular plan for dinner, leaving me to play with the winter provisions I’ve carefully squirrelled away in my cupboards. Botany
Erect, solitary tree growing to 25 meters high with annular scars. Leaves about 2-3 meters long with numerous leaflets, 60-90cm long. Spadix is branched and compressed. Fruits are ovoid, smooth, orange to red when ripe; 4-6 cm long, with a fleshy pericarp and fibrous mesocarp.
Distribution
Cultivated throughout the settled areas. Spontaneous in some places.
Constituents
Alkaloids - arecaine, 0.1%, arecoline, 0.2%, arecaidine, arecolidine, guvacoline, guvacine, isoguvacine; tannin, 15%; red fat, 14%; resin; choline; catechu.
The tanin is located almost entirely in the kernel which decreases as the nut ripens.
Properties
Emmenagogue, purgative, astringent. Young seeds are laxative. Vermifuge mature seeds for expeling tapeworms.

· Sprains, bruises, contusions - Crush leaves, mix with a little coconut oil, warm and apply on affected area.
· Tooth whitener: Carbonize and powder a kernel and rub on teeth.
· Tapeworm infestation: 1 glassful of 5% decoction as enema to be retained for one hour. Also, decoction of kernels boiled 20-30 minutes; for less than 12 years of age, 6 kernels (30 g); over 12 years old, 10-12 kernels (50-60 g); for adults, 16-18 kernels (80-90 g). The bunga may be mixed with kalabasa, boil for 1 hour, maintaining 2-glass volume for oral intake.
· In excess, nuts can cause vomiting and diarrhea; intoxicating to some.
· Fruit in decoction considered abortifacient.
Others
· Cabbage (ubod) is edible, raw or cooked.
· Nut is often used for chewing with lime and ikmo leaves (Piper betel) or litlit (Piper retrofactum).

Dandelions are wildcrafted or grown on a small scale as a leaf vegetable. The leaves (called dandelion greens) can be eaten cooked or raw in various forms, such as in soup or salad. They are probably closest in character to mustard greens. Usually the young leaves and unopened buds are eaten raw in salads, while older leaves are cooked. Raw leaves have a slightly bitter taste. Dandelion salad is often accompanied with hard boiled eggs. The leaves are high in vitamin A, vitamin C and iron, carrying more iron and calcium than spinach.[31]
Dandelion flowers can be used to make dandelion wine, for which there are many recipes.[32] It has also been used in a saison ale called Pissenlit (literally "wet the bed" in French) made by Brasserie Fantôme in Belgium. Dandelion and burdock is a soft drink that has long been popular in the United Kingdom.
Another recipe using the plant is dandelion flower jam. In Silesia and also other parts of Poland and world, dandelion flowers are used to make a honey substitute syrup with added lemon (so-called May-honey). This "honey" is believed to have a medicinal value, in particular against liver problems. Ground roasted dandelion root can be used as a non-caffeinated coffee substitute.
