I had never heard of NAG CHAMPA until I started getting requests for it... I found out that it's an Indian fragrance popular in incense in the 1960's and 70's..I hear it brings back memories..(or "flashbacks" for some..jk..jk.).Our tart has a woody heart similar to patchouli, with powder, musk, amber, and vanilla. If you have ever smelled this fragrance...you'll recognize it. ...one of our best sellers...

This is the absolute BEST way to fragrance a home. Wickless candles! My daughters and I love the fact that we can turn it on, enjoy the fragrance and leave the house without worrying about a flame.

Day 359. My husband and I just finished up watching the first season of the HBO series, Rome on DVD. This kind of reminds me of the photography and lighting used in a lot of the indoor shots. It is actually a melt warmer (AKA wickless candle) I have in the house.

Once you've marveled at these mid-19th century cast iron pieces' excellent condition (the lack of oxygen in their tomb prevented oxidation), focus your attention on the stack of candles at the bottom of the image.

That's right - the wax is as good as new, but where the wicks should be there is a void.

In the olden days, did people have to thread cotton wicks through their candles before they could use them?

That's a droll interpretation of the phenomenon, but it's not correct. No, the sad truth is that the same subterranean conditions that preserved so much of the Arabia's perishable organic cargo such as boots, hats and woolen textiles also destroyed virtually all objects made of plant fiber such as cotton. That's why the excavators found leather book bindings with no pages and candles without wicks.

Any items of clothing held together by cotton thread were reduced to their individual components. Fortunately, the needle holes survived to guide restorers.
