Darien is a small town on the former Racine and Southwestern Branch of the Milwaukee Road, now known as the Elkhorn Branch of the Wisconsin Southern, stub ending at the north end of its name sake town. Here L351 cruises Northeast up the branch, passed some Milwaukee history and a handful of cars.

some converted woodchip boxcars being loaded in Ashland, WI back in the summer of 1991, these old Soo boxcars had there stell doors removed and the WC used board to hold the new cardboard doors in place for woodchip loading, one side would be closed to the top, and the other they left the top quarter open so this plant could blow the woodchips into the car

bewohnten einst zu tausenden die europäischen Wälder.
Die Herde lebt frei in den Wäldern des Rothaargebirges
Der Wanderer auf dem Rothaarsteig kann sie mit etwas Glück
und Umsicht vielleicht entdecken.
In a protection of endangered species project unique
in Europe the first 3 animals were dismissed in 2013 in the
freedom. In 2017 the group has already grown on 23 animals.

An interesting local rolls west down the "Corridor" in Superior. The tracks on the left are the CNW's and this once was a busy area near the two railroad's stations. Trailing the Geep is a DW&P SD40, a potash car, Canadian National van, some hoppers with a SOO caboose bringing up the rear. One of my first Nikon FM shots and I was trying to figure everything out.
