Peek-a-boo! A male great white shark pops his face in the frame! White sharks have a tendency to sneak up on you at times, especially when you're more focused on looking at another shark through the viewfinder. It's not uncommon to turn another direction only to find another photogenic shark in the viewfinder ready for a close-up.
Legend, one of Isla de Guadalupe's male great white sharks, swims by photographers in a submersible cage.
Reports from Guadalupe indicate that Legend has returned this season, so I'm hopeful that I'll get the opportunity to see him (along with some of the other "regulars") when I return there next week.
