Ganden Monastery (also Gaden or Gandain) or Ganden Namgyeling is one of the 'great three' Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet, located at the top of Wangbur Mountain, Tagtse County, 36 kilometers ENE from the Potala Palace in Lhasa, at an altitude of 4,750m. (The other two 'great monasteries' are Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery.)
Its full name is dGa' ldan rNam rgyal gling or dGan-ldan rNam-par Gyal-wahi glin ("Continent of completely victorious happiness").
It was the original monastery of the Geluk order, founded by Je Tsongkhapa himself in 1409, and traditionally considered to be the seat of Geluk administrative and political power. The Ganden Tripa or 'throne-holder of Ganden' is the head of the Gelukpa school.

Yesterday these blossoms were a strong tint of green. Today with the almost summer-like temperatures, the blossoms are quickly turning white, with some pink edges on the back of them as can be seen in the next shot, with a hummingbird nest firmly attached to one of the dogwood branches. The dogwood is the official flower/emblem of Canada's West Cost province, British Columbia. Ah, Spring!

Most of the sulfur goes into cream industry, to produce whitening cream for south Asian and African market where women highly desire it. While the European & North American women desire a browning cream. See the irony? Also those creams tend to be cancerous.

I picked up the two troopers on the right recently so I figured I would try whitening these guys with hydrogen peroxide. I used the regular 3% you can get at any store. These guys were in for three days. Which worked out pretty good considering a few of the days were overcast. Originally I was going to try the food grade of 6% which I may still try at some point. My yard has lots of trees so no spot stays in the sun for very long. I ended up putting these guys in a mason jar and placed it in a rain gutter on my house in an area that gets sun all day.

Tal R's painting style is described as "kolbojnik", which means "left-overs",[1] a Hebrew word for "jack-of-all-trades."
