It is, moreover, a classic place of observation of heron (Ardea cinerea), a species that in the past has been established that nestled in the Canaries, at present has not been able to confirm.
The Roque de Garachico was declared a natural monument and area of ecological sensitivity by the Autonomous Law 12/94, later recast with the Law of Ordination of the Territory of the Canary Islands by Legislative Decree 1/2000.

This sculpture was planned to be placed on the Rambla de las Tinajas, in front of the García Sanabria Park, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but because of the disinterest of the capitalist Consistory of the moment it ended up moving to Garachico.
Japanese Kan Yasuda traveled to the island with his wife and together with the Sculpture Commission of the College of Architects of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, they chose the Rambla de las Tinajas as the ideal place in the capital to place their two pieces of marble.
Time passed, the Cabildo paid for the work, the sculpture was made and Yasuda sent it to the Island. He speaks to the City Council to place it, as had been agreed from the beginning, and the mayor said no, that "on the Rambla it was not possible". The sculpture was almost a year packed on the pier without anything happening.
Desperate, the architects called the sculptor to come back and look for another site together. When Yasuda saw the site he said: "The best there can be for a sculpture of mine is this." In the end this story had a happy ending and Kan Yasuda returned home very happy.
St.Petersburg : Cathedral of Ss.Peter and Paul -Interior -Iconostasis (Trezzini-Merkulev 1722-27 )

Edward Harold Browne (1811-1891) was second Vice-Principal of St David’s College Lampeter, before becoming bishop of Ely and then of Winchester.
His tomb in Winchester Cathedral is made of shining white marble and at his feet lies a perfect little dragon, also in white marble. The creature is there for two reasons: Bishop Browne’s connections with Wales, that land of dragons; and because he was a member of that select band, the Order of the Garter, whose emblem centres around St George and the Dragon.
I photographed Edward Harold Browne's tomb earlier this year and mentioned in the description that I hadn't got a decent photo of the dragon - so here it is!

Marbles for Macro Mondays, borrowed from a friend, placed on a black pizza plate, Villeroy & Boch, series Manufacture Rock. For the light sun, through a metal plate for grilling.
The main challenge, was to place the marbles onto to the plate, somehow equidistant from each other, in a straight line, put no parallel to the lens, to get some dept of field. Last but the grill plate into a magic clamp, adjust the plate for the right hot spot, camera to tripod and take some photos.
If you look carefully, there are different reflections and hot spots on the marbles.
A once in a lifetime experience, I mean how I got there. At the beginning I booked a trip with a group. Our tourist guide came just back from India and felt sick and the trip would have been cancelled unless some of the guests was willing to manage the group at the airport, pass controls hotel check etc. So I sacrificed myself willingly, especially as I got the trip with a huge discount.

The first monument in the Mughal style is the tomb of Humayun, which was built in 1569 AD, it is the first link of the first building of the typical Timur form on the land of India and the series of Tomb of Gardens developed by the Mughals. it is a beautiful red sandstone tomb which was designed by a Persian architect. The tomb was built in standard charbagh (literally meaning four gardens), in which the water was divided into 4 separate quadrupeds. Which is later seen in the Taj Mahal?

The Entrance to the Taj Mahal, as Seen from the Taj Mahal, Agra.
For this shot I have my back to the Taj Mahal.
To the west of the Taj is a mosque made of red sandstone and is used for Friday prayers. An identical mosque is also built to the right of the Taj and is known as Jawab(answer). It was built to maintain symmetry. This cannot be used for prayers as it faces away from Mecca, the Islamic holy place.

"Diana with a Dog", by Luigi Bienaimé, (italian sculptor, 1795-1878)
Ermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia
In Roman mythology, Diana was the goddess of the hunt, being associated with wild animals and woodland, and also of the moon. In literature she was the equivalent of the Greek goddess Artemis, though in cult beliefs she was Italic, not Greek, in origin.
