Just before the storm, when the sun was still shining, beatiful bangka appeared near White Beach.

Bankgas are, popular in Philipines, small wooden boats with two wooden or bamboo outriggers.

I have so many photos from the Philippines that will make it to flickr that it will probably take some more years to upload them all!

Boracay, Philippines

So lucky that every day in Boracay we were witnessing a spectacular lightshow :D (view on black)

Beautifully clear at one end of the island, and dark and ominous at the other end towards the mainland and mountains tonight, so knowing the horizon should be clear and would light up the advancing cloud-bank for sunset, I headed down to a favourite spot locally, as the sun only sets visibly here for a few weeks a year around the solstice, before retreating back behind the cliffs for the rest.

It didn't disappoint :-)

Shooting against the sun at Boracay's White Beach. This boy was simply enjoying skim boarding and having fun in the sun...

整顆夕陽在滿布海面的螃蟹船陪伴下直直的掉到海裡去,彷彿還有見到水蒸氣直衝天際的錯覺,過癮 !!

The Paraw is a double outrigger sail boat native to the Visayas region of the Philippines. The paraw is similar to a proa, but the paraw has two outriggers or katig. The paraw has three major elements that make it a paraw: the bangka, the katig and the layag. Motorized versions of bangkas (with outriggers) are commonly known as pump boats and are used for inter-island travel.

Paraws can sail between 11 to 17 knots (20~31 km/h). The outriggers (ama), or katig, are made of wood or bamboo, and may be straight or curved upward much like skis. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraw

Another evening of great clouds and good winds, so spent an hour or so back down at White Beach, if for no other reason than its a 10min drive from home...!

The tide had already started dropping by the time I got there, so its a case of taking long 2-3min exposures and then moving down the rocks between each shot to keep close to the water, it drops that fast..

Might even try a time-lapse video of these long exposure shots some day on a dropping or rising tide, wish I'd thought of that at the time this evening!
