Hi there, I'm back ;-)
Found this little graffiti-guy on a wall, it made me smile. And it seems that I found Wally ;-D
Where's Wally? (known in North America as Where's Waldo?) is a series of children's books created by the English illustrator Martin Handford. The books consist of a series of detailed double-page spread illustrations depicting dozens or more people doing a variety of amusing things at a given location. Readers are challenged to find a character named Wally hidden in the group. Wally's distinctive red-and-white-striped shirt, bobble hat, and glasses make him slightly easier to recognize. ( WiKi)
In the UK we have a series of children's books where the reader is asked to find a character named Wally (or Waldo for the N.American editions) who is usually hidden somewhere in amongst what is usually a very busy scene. I will be the first to admit that I had no idea I had a Wally hidden in this image. It was only when I got it home and on my computer that I spotted him (not that difficult to be honest) but I thought it livened up this image of repeating groynes that I spotted on the beach at a British seaside town.
For those unfamiliar with what groynes are they are a coastal defence feature that controls the tidal waters flowing onto a beach to mitigate erosion. They will be mostly submerged at high tide and mostly exposed, as they are here, at low tide. In fact the distance between each of these groynes is probably 30 or 40 meters although you wouldn't know it from looking at this.

In this case, Waldo (Wally) is a silver gull who just happened to be in the same airspace as this huge flock of crested terns. Can you spot it?

When I saw this amazing pile of leaves right outside our door, I took Mack out and photographed him with my DSLR camera but I liked this photo better taken with my Pixel phone because it had a wider angle. If Mack weren't wearing a blue harness and leash, he'd almost blend in completely.

Location can be disclosed, now that I have returned....hehehe

This is a picture of a buck that came to visit our yard last week. He followed a doe and they stayed all day.
If you've been wondering where's Waldo, well I found him climbing into my (plastic) champagne glass!! What he doesn't know is that it's filled with water, not champagne. ;-) HMM!
Created for Macro Monday challenge = plastic. (The plastic figures are approximately 2 inches tall.)
Hope everyone is staying safe and staying home.

We just got back from a short 4 day trip to New Mexico and had a great time!
This was taken at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, we also stopped by Chaco Canyon and Bisti Badlands. Four days wasn't near enough time but work is waiting.
OK, so I took this shot of a Widow Skimmer who refused to sit still so this is not as clear as I'd like. However it is the only shot I was able to get.
Lo and behold, and without knowing it, I managed to get another sneaky little tiny itty bitty damselfly in this shot, too!
I uploaded the photo to see if the Widow Skimmer was "doable" or not, and just as I decided not I spotted little "Waldo" hiding in plan sight.
Can you see it?
another exhausting day tracking down the eggs... high point tracked down Waldo today..low point ..map app went down... hopefully it loads tomorrow!
As the grown ups have gone hunting, the cubs are taking it easy at the abandoned temple.
And as the grown ups of another sort are running away from lions, one calf is trying the approach of "hiding in plain sight"...
An entry for Where's Waldo, built for Brickscalibur. Thought it would be fun to go with a somewhat different approach to this category, and I had a bunch of lion cubs...so here we are :)
A woman in red is following a path down from the top, can you find her?
The kids on the rock were up and down.. It was steep and straight down to the ocean, so I thought they were a bit too tough (I'm obviously getting old, lol)
There's not a lot better than a cross-desert hike to a rock art site with friends.

Candid street photography from Edinburgh, Scotland. Taken during the madness of the Fringe Festival 2015 and it appears that this guy was unable to find Wally (or Waldo if you are from over the pond). Enjoy full screen by presing 'L'!
This bird was first found by Danny Tyson on Dec 6th at the Turf Farm on 72nd St. I relocated the bird today in the field across from the turf farm near the airport control tower. The third winter Golden Eagle returned for the first time this year and was in the same field. Was nice to see this adult as we don't get too many adults and have been getting less and less of this species in the Vancouver area.

"Carrara marble, Luna marble to the Romans, is a type of white or blue-grey marble popular for use in sculpture and building decor. It has been quarried since Roman times in the mountains just outside the city of Carrara in the province of Massa and Carrara in the Lunigiana, the northernmost tip of modern-day Tuscany, Italy.
More marble has been extracted from the over 650 quarry sites near Carrara than from any other place. The pure white statuario grade was used for monumental sculpture [...] By the late 20th century this had now run out, and the considerable ongoing production is of stone with a greyish tint, or streaks of black or grey on white. This is still attractive as an architectural facing, or for tiles.[...]" (Wikipedia)
I almost missed this little guy hiding in the branches today; I actually snapped a shot of the same location a few minutes prior to this without a clue that there was a cute little hare hidden out!
I'm glad I decided to revisit this spot and ended up catching a very subtle bit of movement in the corner of my eye.
Nice to see that not only were the people out and enjoying the milder (and snowier) weather, but the animals were out as well!
Finally, something a little more manageable!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Where's Waldo(g)ck? - IMRAN™
This was actually a much more complex panorama to stitch than the usual ones I auto-stitch in software. The different angles, exposure levels, colors, moving dogs, and vantage point of the drone made it more challenging than simply sticking 6-8 photos into Lightroom. But I love the overall effect. Like "Where's Waldo?" puzzles, can you see where my dogs Kennedy & K2, and I are in the photo?

Part 1 of 2 in a collaboration between Ryan Schude and I at Phoot Camp 2010.

And there's a time lapse and more about this photo on my blog, as well as a sneak into our brainstorming beforehand.
Day 82
This is was a fun one to do. She was giggling the whole time I was burying her.
She did great, staying so still while the shot was set up.
After two botched attempts fawn and I needed to chill out in the park. Where is she?
*Don't give any clues if you see her*
Just off "The Drag," the strip of trendy shops and chain restaurants in front of The University of Texas At Austin. The Drag used to be a bastion of weirdness--I'm glad to see someone's keeping it weird! Waldo's turned up in at least one other place on the Drag...
I was in one of my fave hangouts to take some photos of the interior of the colorful back wall.
The family was part of the composition. However, when I edit, I always check to see how the photo looks as a monochrome. Most photos do pretty well as either color or black and white and it simply a matter of choice which one to post . . . or post both.
With this photo, the family seemed to disappear against the busy back wall when I left all the tonal values as they were.. It seemed kind of funny to me so that is the one I posted.
It is kind of a "Where's Waldo" ki thing. Takes the mind's eye to sort out what is going on.
My daughter spotted this one on the open trail, headed toward a tree. By the time I arrived, it had climbed onto the limb and changed from a lightish brown to match the surroundings perfectly. These amazing creatures can hide in plain sight. Camouflage at it's finest.
Where's Waldo? At San Diego Comic-con dressed like a zombie!
Looks like the same outfit he wore when he participated in that world record-breaking Thriller dance!
A tribute to Michael Jackson perhaps?
this reminds me of those amusement park 'whak-a-mole' games where you have a fuzzy hammer and you have to try to mash the gopher as it quickly pops in & out of various holes.
Happy Halloween!
This didn't come out the way I had hoped. His expression was just too cute though. I was going to reshoot it with a different background, but this cold I have makes me really tired so I gave up on that idea.
Even though we were on the back side of Target, (so I could shoot "in private") we still got a lot of attention. At first, people were wondering why I was taking pictures of a bunch of shopping carts...and then they saw "Waldo" and the hysterical laughing started. I think the funniest moment for me was when one little girl yelled out to her mom, "Mommy! Come here! I found Waldo!!" :P
Last Sunday was supposed to be sunny all day. That didn't quite happen until the last couple of hours but it was spectacular none-the-less. We did a snowshoe hike along a section of the Bruce Trail and the biggest challenge was finding the white blaze markers on the snowy trees - kind of a "Where's Waldo" thing. See one here in this image? For quite some distance, we followed fresh coyote and rabbit tracks, the owners of which seemed to have an uncanny ability to follow the trail markers as well. There was no sign that one caught up with the other so hopefully, everyone was able to go home that night.
