Jerry is member of the Silurian Border Morrisman. A group from Ledbury, Herefordshire. The Group refer to him as "Wookie". That's likely to be a connection to the Star Wars character. :-)

I hate the anxiety that a blank canvas gives me. I’ve found it’s even worse when you’re getting paid to do the painting that is going onto that blank canvas! Some of you know I’ve been commissioned to paint an image inspired by the Lord Of the Rings. My client is anxiously awaiting a pic of the progress and some of you have been asking what I’ve been up to in that realm of my life. So far I have the view of the shire nearly complete.. the values need a bit of refining but by the weekend.. I’m hoping to finish landscape in the center. Being back to school, I haven’t had as much time to work on painting but I do it when ever I get a chance. I wish I had more time to dedicate to this passion and, believe me, summer can’t come soon enough! Stay tuned as I will be posting a pic of the current state of this piece.

Today, I felt pretty fucking worthless. This photo didn't turn out as well as it could have.

Image Theft is a CRIME. Please REPORT IT like I do.
My dog, Jasmine, regards our own three cats as part of her "pack" but is not accepting of our new stray. This isn't the first [stray] cat we've brought inside, that made her hackles go up.
We allow Rusty to go outside during the day for as long as he wants --while we're home. He sniffs around....sits in the sunshine and basically stays close by. When we see he's had enough we put him back into his "room".
But this arrangement is not good...a cat shouldn't be a prisoner in a closed room. A couple times we let him out to roam the house [Jasmine in another room w/door closed] but he sprayed a couple areas....like male cats do.
So, I guess I have to get busy putting out flyers and ads to find him a permanent home. It's very stressful here....and not a good situation for anyone. This is the door where Jasmine sits ....knowing there's a strange cat on the other side....we don't dare let him out w/out putting Jasmine away first.

"Waste (or wastes) are unwanted or unusable materials. Waste is any substance which is discarded after primary use, or is worthless, defective and of no use. A by-product by contrast is a joint product of relatively minor economic value. A waste product may become a by-product, joint product or resource through an invention that raises a waste product's value above zero.
Examples include municipal solid waste (household trash/refuse), hazardous waste, wastewater (such as sewage, which contains bodily wastes (feces and urine) and surface runoff), radioactive waste, and others."
"Every year we dump a massive 2.12 billion tons of waste. If all this waste was put on trucks they would go around the world 24 times. This stunning amount of waste is partly because 99 percent of the stuff we buy is trashed within 6 months."

One of the most exciting things to do when visiting Sydney, is to ride a Manly ferry from Circular Quay in the CBD, across the harbour to the beach resort suburb of Manly. It is a beautiful ride across one of the most beautiful harbours in the world, highlighted by "crossing the Heads", the harbour mouth and entry to the Tasman Sea. A stroll around Manly, and a dip in the ocean at the famous ocean beach, makes for a fabulous day out.
I don't like being judged for things I cannot control. People judge me constantly because of the house I live in. The neighborhood. I did not choose this home. Even if I had, that doesn't give you a right to judge. But maybe it would be more understandable. But the thing is, I did not choose this. I can say that about so many aspects of my life. I did not choose it, but it is part of me. I am living with it.
People drive into my neighborhood, my street, my driveway, and they feel poor. Or they think they were looked down upon when they drove in. That is not my fault. You feeling inferior because of some stupid standard you---or society---have placed on yourself has absolutely nothing to do with me. Just like I cannot help if you look at the home I live in and then decide to judge me for it.
When you are sitting there, looking down at me because I just went from a "nice, cool girl" to the "spoiled snob," please remember that you have no idea. You have no clue what goes on inside this home. You have no concept of what money means to the family living behind these walls. You have no understanding of what my parents were thinking when they bought this house. And I don't need to explain it to you.
I cannot stand being judged for things I have no power over. If you think I can't do something or say something or think something simply because I am female, you are out of line. I don't have a penis. So what? I realize my boobs are small, but I am still a girl. I am proud of that. I am not an extreme feminist, either. Judge me on the basis of my actions or the way I treat animals and people, but please, for the love of God, do not think less of me because I have a vagina.
Please, for the love of God, do not think less of me because I live in a big house.
I watched a stupid movie with a cool boy today. I will watch a magnificent movie with said cool boy tomorrow. It was easy. I am not used to relationships being easy; any kind. Maybe it will change, but for now, I am enjoying the effortlessness. Now I am going to make brownies and vacuum the stairs in the above photo. Today was a very, very good day.
Thank you for reading this.

The regal building from 1909 catches the eye of those who arrive at Praça Floriano, popularly known as Cinelândia, located downtown in Rio. Surrounded by equally important buildings such as Museu Nacional de Belas Artes and the Biblioteca Nacional, Theatro Municipal has already greeted the greatest names from national and international opera, dance and music. At the time of its construction, Rio de Janeiro was still the Federal City and having a national theater that lived up to the country was of extreme importance. With that in mind, a contest was promoted. It was won by two young competitors - a Brazilian and a French - who had their projects unified for the construction of Theatro Municipal. Curiously, both had been inspired by Ópera de Paris, de Charles Garnier, which facilitated the merging of their ideas.
The paintings of Eliseu Visconti, the decorative elements in gleaming gold, the onyx staircase, the columns in Carrara marble and the beautiful stained glass windows portraying Greek Goddesses of performing arts are just some of the details that make visiting indispensable. From Tuesday to Saturday, the attentive guides are always ready to present the details of the building and reveal its historic and cultural importance. Engaged in the initiative of fomenting and disseminating culture, the administration of Theatro Municipal promotes presentations for modest prices on Sundays. This very unusual looking tree started growing in my backyard several years ago, unlike any of the other trees from around here, most likely a gift from some bird who dropped a seed.
It has grown quite nicely providing considerable shade during the hot summer months, and the birds seem to love sheltering among the branches as they scan the yard and surrounding area before going to the feeders.
Last year was the first year I noticed it had seeds in the Fall but I never researched to see what it was until just now, wanting to provide a name of the tree for this post. If research is correct it has many names including Chinese Tallowtree, Florida Aspen, and even Popcorn Tree, and is considered invasive and not a native tree at all.
So, I was liking this tree until now. I definitely don't want an invasive, non-native tree in my yard since I'm trying to create a natural habitat for the wildlife that visits. So, I don't know what to do? Grrr

Gastronomy and design are the trade mark for one of Ancient Rio’s symbols
Every month, on the first Saturday, it’s fair day at Rua do Lavradio. The street is closed and over 600 tents occupy the sidewalks, giving room for the crowd of customers to take over the asphalt. There are all kinds of products: new and used clothing, decoration items, CDs and LPs… But, mostly, art. The fair is a space where artisans and plastic artists from Rio’s cultural circuit that haven’t gotten popular yet can present their work on the search of fame and reputation. That’s the case of Alexandre Oliveira, who paint on screen and wood, and got a license to show his work six months ago. Ever since, he has seized the opportunity to grow in the business.
